location - close to Town Hall and Christmas Market staff friendly breakfast good in their main hotel 5 mins walk away price
booked a comfort double room - would have described it as 'basic' and 'almost functional' rather than 'comfort' - very hard bed, very thin summer-weight duvet cover (in December!), 2 hard dining room chairs to sit on, old bathroom suite with wonky taps + no heating. If that was a comfort room, I'd hate to see what the basic one was like. Everything old and tired, although they had tried to brighten up the bedroom with a lick of paint.Very noisy from guests in hotel's own bar downstairs obviously going outside for a smoke approx ever 20-30 mins from 11pm until the early hours of the morning. Difficult to shower as has to hold shower head in place or it swung round and soaked the floor. toilet flush button broken, so keep flushing unless you pushed it hard in the other direction. Over the 2 nights probably managed about 6 hours sleep in total due to hard bed + noise outside - couldn't therefore have stayed any longer - desperate for a good night's sleep. Smell of burned cooking oil throughout building.
Location is perfect...very short walk to the center. The staff was friendly.
The rooms are older and not level. We sat a ball on the floor and it rolled from one end to the other. It does give it some character. That said, we were not in the room very much.
Location. I also liked the atmosphere of old house.
I wanted non-smoking-room, but then I had to breethe and smel some other visitors smoking during the night. Bathroom was really cold, especially the floor.
The staff was very very friendly and courteous. The hotel was nice and clean and very close to the market place and shops, still quiet during nights.
I had back trouble every morning, seems like the mattress and pillow weren't comfortable.
Huge room with decorated ceilings, clean and a position right in the center of the old town. Competitive pricing compared to the nearby hotels
The hotel has no breakfast service, so you have to walk (only 5 min though) to another one of their hotels for breakfast - and also to pay if you want to pay with credit card. No private parking, but you can park for free behind the hotel until 9 am
The location was right around the corner from the street leading to the town square. The rooms were adequate. However, the wonderful buffet breakfast was served in another hotel, Zum Schwarzen Adler, which was an easy walk from where our rooms were. Check-in was also here. The staff was very friendly and courteous.
Some in the group thought that their rooms were small. We had to check-in and had breakfast at another hotel. Overnight parking was outside the city wall, which was expected.
Good clean room and great value for the money. Internet worked as advertised; it was free and actually worked. TV had CNN available. Nice room with extra bed if needed.
This is in crowded old town. Prefer to reside in outskirts, hard to tell location.
Had to carry our bags up 3 flights of stairs, we are in our 80's- this is unacceptable
Location was great! Right in the center of history.. The room was quaint, comfortable beds and clean restroom. Fun to think of staying in a 300 year old building.
There were no elevators and we had to walk up three very long flights of stairs. Everyone who considers this hotel should be made aware of this.
The location is excellent, the hotel mood is really cool with big keys in old doors, the staff is good, the bathroom is good, it's a quiet place to sleep!
we got a terrible bed! was hard to sleep on it!
Easy to find
Had to park quite a distance away and had to pay. had to walk to a sister hotel for breakfast and it was not included. Weak water pressure in shower. Weak internet connection or none
Close to center
Breakfast and check out is hundreds of meters away from where you sleep. Forcing you to carry your luggage on foot through half the town.
A great location in the old town with easy walking to all the main sights. A small room but comfortable. The rooms are above a bar with friendly staff and a great atmosphere in the evening.
You have to pay and have breakfast in another hotel a couple of streets away, only when you've checked in there will they allow you to have a key to the room. I didn't bother with the breakfast, on the other side of the block the hotel is on, is a small locals bakery which opens early and it does a nice breakfast for less than the hotel charges. Saves a lot of time too.
the stuff is very friendly and kind-hearted.
We were greeted by first name at the door. Very accomodating and helpful!
situated just steps from the very middle of the town hall. A quiet room.
Location Friendly staff Clean
Room was cold
Location was good and close to downtown and the price was cheap but other than that there are not too many positives.
No staff on site made check in and out difficult. No elevator to get to top floor with luggage. Overall wouldn't recommend since there are other hotels in same location that looked nicer.
The location is great. It's near the main square and it's within the city walls. Rooms were clean and well kept. Just know that you'll have to park outside the walls if you're driving.
Room was clean but outdated (old furniture and appliances), but we didn't need to watch TV.
Location and breakfast.
A few heating issues.
The hotel is a bar/restaurant. It is really well-located, right in the middle of the old city. You can reach the parking lot within a 2min walk, which was very pleasant. The food in the hotel was very delicious and not overpriced. Good place for spending ONE or TWO nights.
The room was very cold and small. The shower was blocked, so water wouldn't go down after a shower. The fact that your breakfast, payment and check-out need to be done in another partner hotel close by is a bit uncomfortable.
The staff was great and helpful. Located in the center of town made it wonderful and easy to see the whole town. Our room was very nice, just like the pictures on the adds. There was a bar below our room but you couldn't hear it with the windows closed. And it was fun!
It was a little hard to find. Just say...50 meters below the white tower on the left going down hill. Check in at the restaurant downstairs.
Friendly staff, good service. Great breakfast, however it was six blocks from the wiessen Turm in the parent hotel Schwarzer Adler.
The rooms are over a local bar. Not a high end Gasthouse. We got what we paid for, it was the lower end of the price range and if we were familiar with the overall condition of the building we would have opted to pay a few Euros more and stay elsewhere. Check in was at the gasthaus payment & check out was at another location.
