Ambassador Hotel

Location.

Internet was very weak in my room. Bit cold in the room and a thin blanket. When I asked for a second blanket the guy at reception told me they don't have others. Next day was someone else there and I received a second one.

Location was ideal. Right in the heart of Essen.

The rooms were all smaller than suggested by the images on Booking.com The electrics in the room were unreliable with 3 out of 6 lights not working and there was little effort made to resolve this with the staff preferring to persuade us to accept the lighting as it was rather than repair them or change the room.

Room given was small. It was C39 on First floor.

Friendly and helpful staff.

Staff are very friendly and welcoming - I was remembered having stayed there seven months previously therefore my passport wasn't needed! The room was good and clean with nice linen etc. The breakfast offered a good variety including scrambled eggs.

The lack of an easy chair in the bedroom means having to use the bed to relax, read etc. Along with other comments on the site about the hotel I agree it wold be good if they made the tea / coffee making facilities more available than only breakfast. Or even a kettle in the room.

Good breakfast, and fairly price.

Wifi does not work well in my computer.

The Ambassador is a very clean hotel, the free wifi facility is a priority for me. Furthermore everyone of the hotel team is very friendly and helpful, I always have a pleasant stay there. The breakfast is adequate, and considering the reasonable room rate, I could not expect more.

If the hotel has in room tea/coffee maker, that would tick all my boxes.

Many of boisterous customers of the restaurant nearby, and a lots of trash after them early in the morning. Also the parking ground was too small, but personnel kindly took care about our car, indeed

The hospitality of the staff, very good location, hearty breakfast.

It did not get the information from the website that there was extra charge for sauna and whirlpool. The wifi was available but signal was too weak in most of the rooms.

The very friendly staff and location, also free wifi were the best factors for me.

I felt the description in Bookings.com for the hotel mislead me in thinking that the sauna and hot tub were free to use, when infact it costs €16 per usage. It would be an added bonus if the hotel were to install free tea/ coffee making facilities in the room, or, if they let the guest use the tea/coffee facilities in the dining room 24/7.

The hotel is close to shopping area and also close o Essen Railway station and makes the day to day travel convenient.

Centrally located, close to the central railway station, on the pedestrian zone. Although old ,it is quiet and clean. Quality of breakfast. During my stay free 24h, log in-log out, WiFi internet connection in the room. Would stay again.

Nothing much. Could offer variety of coffee for breakfast. Sound insulation of doors and walls could be better.

Good Staff and with helpful nature. Very neat and clean hotel. Quick service.

Location a bit run down

Es befindet sich auf 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß vom Hauptbahnhof; ein gutes Frühstück und nette Leute am Empfang. Wenn ich Essen noch einmal besuche, würde ich sofort wieder hier ein Zimmer buchen !

Etwas kleines Zimmer : man fällt fast auf dem Waschbecken, wenn man aus der Dusche kommt, aber wenn man nur da ist zum Schlafen, ist es nicht so schlimme - wohl muss mann beachten, wenn man in Nr. 23 schläft, dass man ziemlich viel Lärm von der Straße hat, wenn man nicht fest schläft, könnte dies problematisch sein ...

Unser 3 oder 4. Aufenthalt und haben uns wieder wohl gefühlt. Zimmer sind zwar recht klein aber sauber und zweckmäßig. Parken im nahe gelegenen Parkhaus ok, die hoteleigenen Plätze sind rar.

Empfangspersonal ist super nett und hilfsbereit, mit Ausnahme von einer Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption, der ein bißchen mehr Freundlichkeit nichts schaden würde

Het ontbijtbuffet was goed en uitgebreid. Het personeel is erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Receptie is 24/7 bezet, Hotel is goed uitgerust. Hotel bevindt zich in het centrum, midden in het winkelgebied.

Er waren voor mij geen tegenvallers.

Ontvangst en service zijn goed. Ontbijtbufet is prima. Kamers zijn netjes en schoon. Prijs/kwaliteit is uitstekend.

Parkeerplaats van het hotel is klein en lastig te vinden. Is niet met borden aangegeven.
