Although we didn't get the Hotel's WiFi to work well with our devices, we enjoyed free internet due to the LAN cable in our room. The close proximity to CCH makes this location perfect for Congress attendees and from the nearby Hamburg Dammtor railway station, public transport can take you anywhere in Hamburg in a short time.
Noise made by other guests in the corridor was clearly audible in the room.
The room was very cosy, beautiful and clean. I liked very much the furniture, which seems to be different in every room. The size of the room was perfect for one person. Location was perfect, next to the university.
Unfortunately Wi-Fi didn't work in the room(s) but only at the reception and breakfast area.
The hotel is conveniently located in a nice part of town. It is not a standard hotel but rather seems to be an old apartment house that has been transferred to a hotel. Thus, it is really charming and nice.
The staff was not particularly friendly of accommodating, the shower did not work properly and I spotted silverfish in the bathroom.
Perfect location (5 minutes from Hamburg Dammtor railwaystation, close to center, concert hall, opera, theatres; several parks within 5 mintes walk), extremely friendly staff, wonderful served breakfast (as much as you like), spacious room, when rooms are availableearly check in is possible (we checked in at 8.00 in the morning)
had some problems adjusting temperature in the shower; wlan sometimes poor in the room (but high speed in the breakfast room)
Hotel right in the centre of Hamburg. Room was comfortable and had a private bathroom across the corridor which you open with the room key. Staff were friendly and the hotel was in a nice old building. Old fashioned in a good way.
I could feel the matress through the pillow on the bed it was that flat.
Wifi speed and responsiveness is very low. You basically can't use it. Smell of the old furniture and old carpets on the floor. Auto road and train nearby, so don't expect to have a good sleep there. Basically, the whole room could benefit from the renovation.
Old hotel clean and tidy service minded personnel.
Basically the hotel don't have any special to critize but neither anything to be proud to tell. Have good location for the cch and free parking in the street.
The hotel need to be renewal, the light in the corridor at night is very high and pass thru the door, you can hear the neighbours and honestly is not a hotel, it's more a hostal. There is not means for disable people and to bring up any suitcase is a bit nightmare with this narrow lift...not much restaurants around and I had a really bad sleep.
Great location. Free wifi. Room ok for 1 night.
Shared toilet on the floor in a 3-star hotel for €100/night is not acceptable. Service was friendly but not professional.
I loved the fact that it was not a modern overly glitzy hotel, but rather an old style classic hotel. Very clean and good service.
Clean, cozy and with good connection. Good for a stay for few days in Hamburg for business
showers in rooms (with no air ventialtion for humidity afterwords); several hotels in one bulding (Amsterdam is just on one floor), bit tricky to find at first
Excellent location, close to city centre, and near the University of Hamburg, where I had a conference. Nice room - old style, with high ceilings, and antique-looking furniture- room with character. Also a balcony. Good breakfast. It is one of four or five hotels in one building, so the reception is on the second floor, and my room was on the ground floor. Friendly staff.
There was some loud noice in the early morning (7am) from building works outside- but I think it does not happen always, and it wasn't too much trouble anyway. Also - there was a menu of drinks available from the reception till 10pm, but when I went to get a bottle of water at around 5pm, the door to the reception floor was closed and nobody answered the door bell- but again, not a big problem, there are shops around.
The atmosphere in this old building is great. Traditional building combined with luxury bathroom and exellent bed.
Location - walkable to city centre or on S Bahn. Quiet. Easy parking.
Minuscule bathroom. Had to climb over toilet to get into shower. Odd to have 6 hotels in one building. Could be much better as one.
- parking directly in front of the hotel - only 3 min walk to next S-Bahn station - very quite - very clean - bath/toilett seperate in the corridor but only for my personal use
We had the cheapest room and didn't that we got our own shower and sink! That was very nice. I liked the wooden floors and high seelings. The building looks nice.
Very friendly staff, attractive building. I was there for research work at the Staatsbibliothek, and this hotel is literally a 2-minute walk away. Couldn't have been happier.
Showers in two different rooms didn't drain properly. Breakfast is as overpriced as in other Continental hotels (buy there is a bakery just downstairs in the same building). Otherwise, what's not to like?
Excellent location in the city center, next to the Damtor train station. The hotel is situated in a beautifull buildin not far from the Botanical gardeen, nice parks in the lively University area. Nice, comfortable and spacious rooms. Very clean. The employees were very kind, professional and helpfull.
N/A I liked everything about this hoyel.
Neat, tidy and warm room
Room was very small, toilet shared.
Location next to large Park Area and public transport, park provided for a nice walk to the center of town, or you can use the S-Bahn and underground a five minute walk away. Quiet environment, large room (3 People had ample space). Very welcoming and helpful staff.
As our room was next to entrance area, where smoking was encouraged with ashtray, depending on wind direction, imissions caused us to close the window. But as we had a corner-room, we could use the other side.
Nicely furnished rooms, convenient location 2mins walking from S-bahn, some restaurants and bars at walking distance even if in general really quiet spot. Good bakery right downstairs (we always had breakfast there).
The cleaning lady never changed our towels even if we put them in the ground once. I could have asked but I was lazy (it was the last day). Wifi didn't work in the room. A bit pricy but probably on the average of the city.
great location near Dammtor station, nice individual rooms
Good location, easy access to city centre shopping.
Wifi not accessible in room 35. Bathroom needs upgrade in that room.
For a 3 star hotel i found it to be excellent. Close to everything, nice staff and a very comfortable bed.
A small hotel placed in a very authentic old building. Altogether, quite lovely and it completely fulfilled our expectations.
We only stayed one night and there was actually nothing that annoyed us.
