The atmosphere in this old building is great. Traditional building combined with luxury bathroom and exellent bed.
Location - walkable to city centre or on S Bahn. Quiet. Easy parking.
Minuscule bathroom. Had to climb over toilet to get into shower. Odd to have 6 hotels in one building. Could be much better as one.
We had the cheapest room and didn't that we got our own shower and sink! That was very nice. I liked the wooden floors and high seelings. The building looks nice.
Very friendly staff, attractive building. I was there for research work at the Staatsbibliothek, and this hotel is literally a 2-minute walk away. Couldn't have been happier.
Showers in two different rooms didn't drain properly. Breakfast is as overpriced as in other Continental hotels (buy there is a bakery just downstairs in the same building). Otherwise, what's not to like?
Excellent location in the city center, next to the Damtor train station. The hotel is situated in a beautifull buildin not far from the Botanical gardeen, nice parks in the lively University area. Nice, comfortable and spacious rooms. Very clean. The employees were very kind, professional and helpfull.
N/A I liked everything about this hoyel.
Neat, tidy and warm room
Room was very small, toilet shared.
Location next to large Park Area and public transport, park provided for a nice walk to the center of town, or you can use the S-Bahn and underground a five minute walk away. Quiet environment, large room (3 People had ample space). Very welcoming and helpful staff.
As our room was next to entrance area, where smoking was encouraged with ashtray, depending on wind direction, imissions caused us to close the window. But as we had a corner-room, we could use the other side.
Nicely furnished rooms, convenient location 2mins walking from S-bahn, some restaurants and bars at walking distance even if in general really quiet spot. Good bakery right downstairs (we always had breakfast there).
The cleaning lady never changed our towels even if we put them in the ground once. I could have asked but I was lazy (it was the last day). Wifi didn't work in the room. A bit pricy but probably on the average of the city.
great location near Dammtor station, nice individual rooms
Good location, easy access to city centre shopping.
Wifi not accessible in room 35. Bathroom needs upgrade in that room.
For a 3 star hotel i found it to be excellent. Close to everything, nice staff and a very comfortable bed.
A small hotel placed in a very authentic old building. Altogether, quite lovely and it completely fulfilled our expectations.
We only stayed one night and there was actually nothing that annoyed us.
Amenities and luxury linens and materials, conservation with electricity and timely service for any requests made. Loved the heated bathroom floors and the Stroopwafels too
The television was difficult to operate and the light switches were oddly placed without indicators. Not a big deal.
the location is great. Like the private atmosphere.
Our shower didn't work. When we reported that the hot water wasn't running we were not offered an excuse instead they sent someone to check if we were telling the truth. No apologies, no discount offered which was instructed by the hotel management! For sure we won't go back and cannot recommend the hotel because of it's poor service and management style.
Wifi intermittent issue
We liked the location and accessibility. The room was spacious.
Toilet in the hall, not in the room. The price is high for what you get.
Triple room was very spacious, nicely decorated Breakfast was excellent
Wifi was a bit troublesome, had to get another userid/password at reception
we had booked a room with a shared bathroom - the bedroom was cosy with a comfy bed and lovely high ceilings, wooden floor and nice furniture, a shower was in the room, only had to share the toilet (clean) across the floor
we were woken up in the middle of the night by other guests returning to their rooms and speaking loudly and slamming doors ( which is not really the hotels fault )
The rooms were clean, bright and well furnished. The staff were very helpful suggesting attractions and recommending good places to eat. We had a triple room, which was very large and spacious and double fronted. The windows open, which is a welcome change from air conditioning. The area is quiet and peaceful just near the University. The hotel is a short walk from Dammtor station which gives excellent access to the city by train or bus. The Alster lake is short walk and very beautiful attraction.
The Hotel shares its entrance with other hotels and as such the communal areas are a bit tired and worn. The hotel lobby and breakfast room have a tired looking décor which is not a reflection of the standard of the rooms.
The rooms, the atmosphere
internet access included. good location with access to university and train station. mattress was comfortable
no air-conditioning = sickeningly hot. mold on shower and grout, ridiculously small bathroom even by European standards. had to literally climb over the toilet and through a narrow 18" gap to enter shower. My computer screen is wider than the shower door opening. Parquet flooring is old, impossible to clean properly and irritatingly noisy. No safe in room to store valuables. Hotel breakfast is unorganized and definitely not value for money. Bottom line is don't stay at this hotel, there are far better options I'd wish I'd known before we booked.
I liked the friendly receptionist who looked after me.....in impeccable English. I also liked my bedroom. I only booked a single, but the bed was large....the ceiling was high, the furniture looked antique and the floors were solid wood. Breakfast was nice too.
The people! and the building itself, just like living in a castle that says so in any novel. We stayed at a room in the attic -a soft big bed, an old writing desk, quite atmosphere, to me, a bit classic "Italian-fancy" way~ I really love this stylish decor and the comfortable sets which all ensures us a happy stay! Recommend especially for those who are willing to explore an old-fashioned movie kind European lifestyle~to me, the stay was a little unexpected surprise :)
Internet is one account for one register only. Meaning- if you have both a notebook and a cellphone to log-in, make sure to ask for an extra account. Price is not too-budget-friendly yet worthy its value~Recommend to stay, anyway~
Clean, tidy hotel ideal for a short stay.
Reception a bit strange being on second floor with rooms on the ground floor!!
