Always a pleasure to stay at this well-managed friendly hotel
Location is perfect!
- Two single beds instead of one big. - Poor view from the window(Parking instead of Dom).
Staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was excellent, spacious and quiet. We will come back, the hotel is in the centre, close to the Dom, Rathaus, tourism office and all shops.
location closest you can get to the Christmas markets.
We had asked for a quiet room and got located right above the main entrance to the hotel with noise all night. When we checked out and told the staff we didn't even get an appology. Also, I made reservations based on the hotel stating they had private parking yet it was full from Christmas shoppers so we had to go to a public lot.
- Location: Very close to the city centre.
- The room had a nasty cigarette smell, even though it was officially non-smoking. - The cushions.
Cleanliness, the staff were very polite, and the position was amazing. The underground car park proved true to be a great advantage.
Expected a double but had twin beds which neither of us liked.
Excellent location. The hotel is very close to all attractions (town hall, Couven Museum, Cathedral, etc.) and the Aachen Christmas market. Very nice breakfast with big choice and nice, helpful staff serving the breakfast. Big spacious room with view both at the cathedral and the town hall.
Staff at the reception was unprofessional and even rude. Just one example. When I asked for some stamps to post our Aachen Christmas cards, the answer was the following: we have no stamps for Europe, only for Germany; we do not know how much a stamp costs for Europe; our guests only send e-mails. So, I went to the post office... There is no minibar or at least a small fridge in the room. It is not possible to make a coffee or tea in the room and there are no coffee making facilities downstairs in the lobby either.
Location for Christmas markt
Friendly helpful staff; location to center city, fair pricing; good English speaking; cleanliness; great breakfast
Size of room was small
Location Large comfortable room Quiet room - no street noise. Helpful staff.
Big & clean room Supply
The whole experience was great ..I was with my wheelchair bound, elderly Mother and .we couldn't have asked for better treatment. The breakfast was fabulous and we had a wonderful view of the Dom .. beautiful at night. The hotel is in a perfect position for sightseeing. Would love to stay there again.
its a nice hotel there is sauna and swimming pool
NO ICE NO FRIDGE NO COFFEEMAKER
Best possible location in Aachen. Very comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast.
No free WiFi.
The staff was helpful and cheerful. The room was small but adequate. Like most European rooms, it was a little stuffy. Opening the window helped but, of course, let in the sounds from outside as well. All in all, a very pleasant stay.
The only negative was the parking garage. It was wonderful to have a secure place to park, but it was small and difficult to drive in. It is inconvenient to have to ask for access to the garage each time you go to the car. An opener using your room key would be very nice. The price of the room should also include one parking spot for free.
The location in the heart of downtown Aachen.
Noise from the ventilation system, which prevented us from opening the windows.
The location + private parking Modern, clean room with good bathroom Excellent breakfast buffet The lovely town of Aachen
A comfortable room that had everything you wanted and needed. Loved the fresh apple!
Perhaps the fee for private parking, could be a bit less, but still worth the peace of mind.
very comfortable excellent location in the centre efficient check in
Location, location, location, right in the centre of the city near the Dom, Centre Charlemagne, and Rathaus. Room was comfortable and clean, and despite the central location quiet (looked out over the back with trees and roof-top gardens). Staff were helpful and spoke good English.
Breakfast a bit pricey, but there are plenty of coffee and pastry shops around for those who don't want a "full" breakfast
Very clean and reasonably priced. Very central to all attractions
Having to pay for internet usage where in most hotels now a days it is free.
right in the historic city centre. Sightseeing and shopping on doorstep and area cramped with restaurants. Hotel has parking but good parking facilities on doorstep too
No airco - very hot at frontside hotel - windows open too noisy at night.
Parking, inexpensive wi-fi, good breakfast, good location for Cathedral and old town.
The water in the toilet smelled particularly bad... had to make sure the lid was always down. Bathroom was a bit dated.
The good - the hotel's location is excellent, right in the heart of the Aachen and a stone throw away from the main attractions. The rooms are fine and the bed comfortable and quite roomy. Staff was friendly and approachable and it was reasonably priced.... But
Two things - firstly, there was a sandwich in my fridge from a previous occupant which isn't indicative of good cleaning. Unfortunately, I threw it away.... Which was a mistake because it transpires that breakfast was 30 euros. Really? That's more expensive than the Hawksmoor in London! Nowhere was it made clear (and my friend and I did look very very carefully!) that it was anything like that expensive and there was no-one booking us in to ask. I guess that maybe they have to charge that much because some of the other guests seem to be filling up the water bottles and bags to keep them going for the day. Pretty furious about the whole thing - definitely one of the worse rip offs I've seen in many years of travelling! Overall... stay there if you like but get an inclusive breakfast or plan to go elsewhere.
