Unfortunately, the owner of the hotel is neither professional, nor friendly. I experienced this in two different occasions.
- Firstly, at my arrival, I was given a room with lesser value than the one I paid. When I realized it, 2 days after, the owner admitted that they mixed the names, but she insisted that I should persuade the other person to change rooms, because "we were speaking the same language"! This is certainly not my job, but I had to discuss it with her for 30 min, before she finally agreed that this is her job.
- Secondly, one night, 2 days before my departure, I happened to forget the key of my room. Nobody is at the reception during the evenings, and I had to ring the bell. She came from her house nearby and, although I said to her that I was sorry, she was yelling, cursing and saying loudly unspeakable things for about 15 minutes, and threatening that we will talk more about this tomorrow.
- I didn’t come to Oberammergau to fight, and certainly she ruined my good mood. If they don’t want to pay someone to sleep at the reception during the nights, although the rooms are not cheap, they should have a plan B, because people may forget their keys sometimes.
- Plus, the internet is too slow, almost not working.
Breakfast is nice, but so is the breakfast in most of the other hotels in the village…
