|This hotel is located in the wonderful countryside of the Ammertal valley, in the town of Oberammergau, famous for its passion plays.|
Outstanding kitchen and spa. Personnel friendly and professional
WI-FI could be enhanced.
Breakfast was very good, rooms clean and fresh. Dinner in the restaurant was also very good and reasonably priced. I found the owners to be pleasant and helpful - overall we really enjoyed our stay here.
Lack of a proper bar - only a very small complaint WiFi was poor in the rooms but I having read other reviews before travelling this was not a surprise or a problem. The bottom line is that I would go back again and recommend the hotel to others.
spacious room & bathroom. We really liked the spa facilities. Comfortable bed. Breakfast decent.
We ate dinner one night in the restaurant -- we had to wait a long time and the cheese on my ravioli was overcooked -- was not edible. The rest of the family's meal was only ok.
Great location...Extremely friendly staff, great free breakfast and cozy room.
The room was very comfortable, Staff was nice and helpful, Wellness center was relaxing
Internet service was not always available and its quality was quite bad during peak evening
View, wifi, sauna, Restaurant, room facilities.
a little bit expensive for a 3 star hotel. Small single bed.
Location was great as it was walking distance to the heart of town. Room was a good size family room with modern bathroom, breakfast was very good and staff were friendly. The steam room and sauna were an added perk after a day of skiing!
Perfect location; Superb sauna, the best I have seen in hotels so far!!!
WiFi was absolutelly poor... Better do not mention that you have it. I have lived on 3rd floor, therefore for Skiping I had to go down to lobby! Breakfast was OK, but coffee sometimes was more like dark water.
The location was beautiful! A short and scenic walk to downtown Oberammergau. The hotel was very neat, clean and beautifully decorated.(we were there around Christmastime) Food was excellent! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely return!
We spent Christmas here and had a fabulous stay. Kitchen staff were excellent and very accommodating- allowed us in early for breakfast on the morning we were leaving. Rooms felt very luxurious. Walking distance to town. Special Christmas dinner in the restaurant and also complementary coffee and cake in the afternoon on Christmas Eve.
Nothing, everything was great
Very good location - especially due to attendance in NATO School lectures. Absolutely perfect "The Schnitzel Evening" - possibility of eating good Bavarian Cuisine and lot of fun.
No local beer - it means "local - Arnika Hotel Beer" ;-)
The space in the room and bathroom was good. Quiet atmosphere and every wednesday the famous "schnitzel evening". Very nice sauna facility. Friendly staff. Good parking space available.
The WiFi was really slow. In the morning the smell of sigarette smoke was observed inside the dini g facilities.
The food was spectacular! The view from our room breathtaking. The staff were helpful and very kind. Highly recommend!
All was good we injoy that
Location clean owner what ever
The hot water in the bathroom hasn't the appropriate pressure, this made the bath difficult.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great setups of rooms and furniture. Great mountain and green areas view.
he is best hotel I book it
I liked everything about this hotel
No mini bars in the rooms.
Very spacious and cosy rooms. Very nice spa. Quiet location with about 5 min easy walk to the centre of the village. The large local public swimming centre is also in walking distance. Wonderful breakfast buffet. The food from the restaurant for dinner is plainly fantastic. Very generous portions, typical dishes from the area, but also excellent steak and standards. Far above average and truly supreme quality. We spent a few days at the hotel and enjoyed it very much as a starting point for walks in the mountains.
Everything was good except the WIFI connection...
WIFI was down over half of my stay and only 10% of the time did it operate at average speeds.
The hotel was in walking distance to the town. Appreciated the lovely bathroom with robes and slippers. Very friendly staff.
Breakfast buffet was not replenished. There was very little cheese on the plate and only one slice of lox at 9 am. What we did eat was very good, especially the wurst salad.
Location in relation to the facility I had to be. Staff is helpfull, however undermanned.
Wi-Fi is poor. Only parts of the hotel you have a good connection.
Everything except my minus comment.
The only thing I was not happy about was my communication with the hotel prior to my arrival, particularly with one man. I needed to do some individual arrangements (arrival outside check-in hours) and I sent to the hotel 2 emails and also an iquiry via their web page announcing this fact but without any response, which was not a big deal so far. So I decided to call them. I expect the hotel to tell me that there is no problem about my late arrival and they come up simple solution. BUT despite my positive expaction I received the answer from that man, that arrival outside check-in time is not possible, literally saying "we are not a five star hotel" and other "no comment" stuff. At the end he said something about some of possibility and promised me to send me an email with the instructions where he will leave the key for me. Didn't send anything. I decided to cancell the reservation and go to another hotel but unfortunatelly it was too late for free cancellation. Right in the morning of my arrival day I called them again to reassure that I can come. Bad luck for me becuse the same man picked up the phone again but immediately after he recognized who he must deal with passed the phone to very nice and polite lady - very likely owner of the hotel. She assured me that there is absolutely no problem to come so late and eventually we arranged everything smoothly and finaly the stay in this hotel was very good and I can recommend you to go there but try to speak to a lady if you need to arrange anything unusual. That man is not doing a good reputation to the hotel which beside of this is really nice to stay in.
This hotel is very different from our last stay at Christmas time. The person who owns the hotel.... Is also the chef. Unlike the pleasant experience we had before where the manager welcomed us with beer and wine at the cozy table in the entrance, the owner is rude, barely looks at you when you speak to him. We waited 2 hour for dinner on Father's Day, with my 85 year old parents. They had 1 waitress. When we complained, the owner said, "this is common in Europe". I travel all over Europe, and this is not common, it is bad service! My advice... Hire your staff back.
