Good character, interesting location and history

A wery interesting and inspiring hotel. Large, clean rooms and a good service at a very resonable price.

I didnot like nething...it's a very very bad hotelll...staff are not educated..nothing is there except a bldg so called a hotel..

Unfortunately the price has been the only factor that made me book one night in this so called 4-star hotel in Wuppertal.

This hotel by far does not deserve a 4**** rating. Too little hotel staff, they do not bother to explain the basic things such as breakfast room and available facilities at check-in, all basic facilities one has to pay for, only access to the hamam between 9 and 11 am, nobody to help with carrying luggage upstairs, and making a problem of checking out half an hour later! The interior, decoration and surface of the rooms by far would not deserve a four star rating, rather a 2, max 3 stars. Not to recommend at all. But O.K. for the price.

Very spacious rooms with fun and interesting decoration and painting. Silent rooms, gigantic bathroom and free juice and sparkling water. The whole hotel is definitely very interesting in it's arcitecture. Extremly good value for money! Can definitely recommend it!

The staff is a little bit strange. The housekeeper just walked in to the room even if i was screaming "We're naked!". She just didn't care. No possibility to order breakfast to the room until eleven o'clock even though it was written everywhere that you could. "Not possible after ten" even when we showed were it was written, which was everywhere.

After careful consideration, the only situation where I would say someone may like this hotel is when you travel on a tight budget and you need the cheapest clean room available. If this is the case, then Art Fabrik is good value for money, it is better than a motel on the road. For all other occasions, you'll be better off in another hotel.

Where to begin? The lobby is dark & unwelcome. The "art" is a post-modernist stance at mixing the unmixable, a misguided concept further worsened by poor execution. In one room you have a black & white photo of San Francisco next to abstractionist painting next to impressionist painting -- tasteless. Renovation is badly done: on white ceiling you see television cable sticking out, from a hole that was re-painted in white -- but of another, yellowish shade; a dish of dry flowers was glued to the table, same for bedside lamps. The rooms would be much better if just left painted white. To create art, you don't need a lot of things, just good taste. Here, it is missing.

Strange place full of 'modern art'. That said the rooms are large and the rate fair.

The 'art' and the view of the back yard that includes a noisey smookers area plus chickens !!

The facilities in the room are practical. Free internet access.

heating in both room was not working properly.

Wonderful Atmosphere, original decoration, very nice sauna in the room for reasonable price
