Lindnerhof Palace was built in 1878. With its richly ornamented facade and beautifully landscaped park, the palace also features the famous "open sesame" rock. The rock leads to the artificial Venus Grotto with a waterfall and lake.
Last but not least, there is the King’s House on Schachen. Ludwig II selected a unique setting with a view of the Zugspitze mountain. The wooden building can only reached on foot, either from Elmau or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The owners were on-site and extremely helpful. Every request for service, help or supplies was met quickly and efficiently. We were not used to the down cover on the bed instead of a top sheet. |

Very cute hotel, liked the breakfast area in the morning. The bed comfort. Didn't sleep well. Pillows were waaayyy too soft. Too much noise because doors are hollow and noise travels easily. The family next to us had a small child that was very loud. |

The breakfast was of high variety and quality. The views from my room's balcony were great (it was facing the mountains). I loved the rubber ducky in the shower, too! Light sleepers may want to bring ear plugs because the hotel is near enough to the church that you hear the bells chiming. They started ringing early (0500) in the morning, and go every 30 minutes until late in the evening (2300). |

Good location, adequate bathroom for European standards, plentiful breakfast with good variety, helpful with local sights, free parking. The hotel booked our advance tickets for Ludwig's Castle visit which was a great help. They also gave us directions to catch the train to the Zugspitz, but since we had a car they could have told us we could drive to Eipsee and take the gondola all the way to the top. Pillows were too soft. |

The staff were very helpful and spoke fabulous english. The building was beautiful and the rooms spacious, new and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. It was quite expensive, but lovely. |

Das Zimmer ist gemütlich, das Badezimmer geräumig und hell mit allem was man braucht. Ein Lift ist vorhanden, was mit dem schweren Koffer ganz praktísch ist. Der Frühstücksraum ist sehr gemütlich und das Büffet ist ansprechend und vielfältig. In wenigen Minuten erreicht man die Fußgängerzone und den Kurpark. |

Wir empfanden die Mischung aus freundlicher, dezenter und aufmerksamer Bedienung als sehr angenehm. Alles war sehr sauber, gute, ruhige Lage. Wer ein wenig Nostalgie mag, findet sicherlich Gefallen an dem Einrichtungsstil des Hotels. Insgesamt bat das Hotel eine sehr gute Basis für ein wunderschönes Wochenende - sehr zu empfehlen. |
