We stayed in the separate apartment that is 200 meters from the hotel. We were 3 adults with 2 small children and had plenty of room. Kitchen is fully equipped and beyond, there are two bathrooms one with a bath and shower and full floor heating which was great as it was -11c at night. Nothing was lacking - plenty of towels soap etc. The location is great, walking distance to the center, and right on the road to the ski resorts. We had a great time and everything was perfect. Highly recommended!!
According to people in Garmich the price was a little high but after comparing online for similar choices it doesn't seem so.
Breakfast, location, dog friendly and parking.
15 euro per night for my dog
Location and hotel were beautiful. The breakfast was excellent and the dining hall was beautiful.
The rooms were unique and very clean but also very small. For a tall people the beds were very small.
We stayed in a variety of hotels during our trip to Germany but none compared to this beautiful, comfortable hotel with an amazing view, very nice staff and short walk to the center. Breakfast was wonderful, the rooms were clean and nicely appointed. The staff was very patient and spoke English with us - and even taught us a few new gran phrases.
Hotel Acshenbrenner was amazing! I can't wait to go back. The staff was fantastic... Alexandria the Innkeeper was so helpful. Beautiful view, perfect location and amazing breakfast!
Wifi wasn't free... It was only 4 euros for the week which was very reasonable but not free as the website says. There is nothing that I didn't like. I can't imagine there is a better place to stay if you are visiting Garmisch.
Friendly and helpful staff
no free WiFi
Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. We had a superior double on the top floor and it was wonderful. Very spacious. Great view! Staff was also great. Easy walk in to town!!
Staff very attentive, especially the manageress who always made sure everything was fine. Lovely traditional style hotel with plentiful breakfast. Stayed for 5 nights. Highly recommend for traditional style stay. Could not have been better.
We loved our stay at this hotel. The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating. I speak some German but primarily English. I had no problems communicating with the staff as most of then spoke excellent English. The hotel was quaint and had a warm and comfortable feel. The breakfast was top notch. I would recommend this hotel to nationals and foreigners alike. The value could not be beat and it is close to the skiing area.
Helpful staff. Very clean. No street noise.
A bit of a walk to the mountains. No hot food at breakfast. No community room. The wifi was hit and miss.
High quality breakfast, very good and quiet location withing easy walk to town center, excellent parking
5 minute walk to center of town, great breakfast included, very nice facilities, free off street parking
Hotel is well located. It’s a 5 minute walk into downtown area with shopping and restaurants. We stayed for one night. Room and beds, pillows were comfortable and very clean. We ate a very delicious breakfast with lots of great choices (included) and great coffee in a carafe at each table. Super! Note: We were passing through to go to Zugsptize and move on. We did Zugspitze from the Austria side (short drive) as gondola tickets were cheaper and faster for us to get up top for views. Saved many euros - but you miss the train ride if that is important to you.
The WIFI is not free, so we did not use. (paying for wifi while paying reasonably high rates seemed wrong - ripoff). Our room faced the walkway entrance and the motion security light went off several times at night lighting up our room. If asking for help at the front desk - be very specific what you need, else you run into the typical German question and answer game until you arrive at the answer you need!
Beautiful place, fine breakfasts, and marvelous staff.
The grounds and building are beautiful, it's close to the center of town and the river is across the street. The breakfast is lavish, filling and delicious.
It's close to busy streets, so there's a lot of traffic noise. The single room was small and hot; avoid in favor of doubles. The price was twice what you pay at private guest houses in town even though the room quality was worse.
Nice hotel facilities, big spacious room which basically reminds you of an old German house which is a nice feeling. Location was very good, 3-4 minutes from the centre of the city (visited during the summer time) and breakfast was also very nice/traditional German.
Internet connection very weak - non-existence which I believe is unacceptable for a hotel charging above Eur100 for its facilities
Everything. Best choice in this price range.
My stay was too short. I'd have stayed longer.
Excellent location, spotlessly clean
Traditional, friendly, excellent location
spacious room, well organized bathroom and shower, good firm bed, desk, good breakfast, proximity to center, free parking and wifi. personal service
Everything was great! Love the staff. Parking was easy. Close to the river, the town and a good view of the mountains.
Get a room on the second floor, I had one right next to the front door. Earplugs helped with the noise.
Great location, walking distance to center of town. Around the corner from wonderful restaurant. Hearty German breakfast! Owner very helpful giving suggestions on what else to see near castles!
There is nothing negative to say.
Good location within a few minutes walk of town. Excellent views of mountains from bedroom windows Warm friendly atmosphere Excellent food
Alles. The Aschenbrenner is one of the very best hotel experiences we have had. The staff are all helpful, professional and personable. The room was delightful, the breakfast buffet perfect-especially when the weather permits sitting on the Sonnenterrace.
