Axel Hotel Berlin

Friendly, clean, warm welcome... and the showers were fantastic! We had a meal in the restaurant and it was very good. My friend used the spa and said it was wonderful even though his was in his underpants! Typical Brit :)

Location, fair breakfast.

I had booked a double room long time in advance, although I travelled alone. When checking-in they told me there was only a single room available...singles are very small, no desk, no chair. Narrow windows range from floor to ceiling and can be opened, but there is no fence, even on the 5th floor!

I liked the style and decoration of the hotel, you can tell alot of money and time has been spent on this hotel. Really lovely!

The only thing I liked was the location

The room was very very small, even thoug I booked a Superior Room. No place to store your suitcase, no privacy for bath and WC. Main light did not work and was not fixed until next day. The colour black throughout the hotel is very depressing. Some member of staff were unfriendly and unhelpful

The rooms were clean, and They felt comfortable and well designed. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great proximity and the hotel staff were friendly, professional and happy to make suggestions for places to eat, visit etc

The location was handy for the U and S trains. Easy to get around the city from the area. Was upgraded to a suite due to a problem during check in was nice suprise. Would book again for sure

Had to ask the room to be cleaned. It was not cleaned at all just the bed made. Left glasses in the room and was not clean.Cleaners hoovering at 6 in the morning. Not a nice way to be woken up.

Average hotel with good service and comfortable rooms.

Small rooms

The staff, the bedroom, the jacuzzi bath in the bathroom, the spa facilities - but I never used them! Next time...

Breakfast way too dear and not worth the cost - avoid!

The shower was huge and fantastic and I want one at home! The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever stayed in and I found it refreshing that there were enough pillows. So often in hotels, you only get one quite slim pillow!! These were luxurious.

I didn't like the banging disco music at breakfast and I found the darkness in the corridors and rooms a little oppressive at times. I also found the fact that people wandered around the hotel in only the complimentary house coats a bit "odd". I found it a bit threatening to be in the lift on my own with a man "flashing" in a looseley tied housecoat on his way from the sauna.
