Splendid hotel in beautiful town. Helpful staff. Good breakfast

Internet connection for ipad at 14 euros per day is not acceptable in this day and age. At 6 other hotels and b&bs we stayed at on our 2 week long European trip it was free

Front rooms are charming; good view of German Alps, great pool.

The price is good. The location is right by the shops and center of town and not far away from the bus/train station. The staff is very nice.

The facilities are very old and safe in the room was not working. Not enough staff in the reception and dining room to help and clean. Breakfast is not very good and does not have variety of food.

Undfriendly staff. Rude waitress at Axel Bar Drain in bathroom floor overflowed on our feet, mentioned to staff they could care less. Furniture worn and dirty, same with carpets We stayed at your Hotel under the Steigenberger 8 and 9 years ago and it was wonderful. Very disappointed this time and would never return or refer anyone. no one to help with luggage.

Beautiful grand old hotel on a pedestrian promenade in the heart of the city. We had a large, very comfortable room with a sitting area. There is an indoor swimming pool, fitness room and spa. Full gourmet breakfast buffet included in the price.

No negatives to report.

All staff were ready to help us at any moment and willing to make you feel confortable during our stay in the hotel

Loved that the period details and character of this hotel had been retained as much as possible. Lovely room and bathroom and very clean. Very nice to have an indoor pool. Beautiful breakfast room and the food was great. Lovely gardens and convenient to shopping and restaurants on foot. Parking is easily accessible for a small cost. Great choice if visiting Salzburg (easy drive to) but you don't want to stay right in Salzburg.

Good location on the pedestrian zone. But now after staying here I would have stayed at another hotel (on our first visit) that was off the zone.

Old out dated, needs new carpeting and drapes. The room we had #107 had a strong perfume scent which was an attempt to disguise an odor coming from the plumbing maybe? Not good, so make sure you do not take that room, I cannot say if others had similar smell. The desk clerk when we checked in was unhelpful, later that day a young woman was helpful, so 50-50.

Gastro-pub restaurant needed much improvement, service was terrible and so was our food.

This is a neat older hotel in a very chic-chic spa town. It's expansive, with a very well-kept, large breakfast, and a complex that is so grand it even includes gardens.

The property seems a little past prime. I'm sure at one time, this grand hotel/spa had all the bells and whistles someone in the '50s-'80s could have hoped for: an oustanding location right on the walking street, beautiful high ceilings, large rooms, an indoor swimming pool that opens into a very large private garden, a salt room, a little cozy Bavarian bar, grand staircases with tapestries, chandaliers ... very neat. But the room itself hasn't really been upgraded since the '80s. The colors are faded, the carpet is worn and a little dingy, and the furnature is clunky. But on the balance, this is a very neat place. Many of our fellow guests were a little older, and you got the impression they had been coming back year after year for the past 30 years. It was neat.

The minibar wasn't working and nailed with spike. In the morning pressure of water was weak. In bathroom there was no exhaust and no power outlets working (the only outlet still working was found inside cabinet with the help of staff) Hotel management let guests park cars right in front of main entry, so other guests have to squeeze between cars to get in or get out of the hotel. We got no wake up call in the morning the day we left. There no free WiFi in the hotel, only hotel's computer in business room, which usually already taken.

The park is definitively a plus as well as the location of the hotel, right in the middle of a pedestrian area (I.e no traffic noise). I would give an a to the pool and and the kid's area (they have been very useful during raining days). The Room was very spacious (we took a superior room with a balcony on the park) and clean The breakfast buffet was ok.

No air conditioning and the room furniture is in need of some upgrade.

Very good and very old hotel. Great, large rooms where you can feel the hotel history. Perfect restaurant and perfect food. The hotel garden is absolutely beautyfull. Very quiet and peacefull place. After 9 pm you can hear only the birds and the church bell in the morning

Maybe the worst part of the hotel is the lobby, it looks a little bit dark and worn out, but don't let it missguide you. The hotel is PERFECT

Superior double room was excellent, large suite with bedroom area, seating area and spacious balcony with spectacular mountain views. Hotel location is good, within the pedestrian part of bad Reichenhall. The main train station is 5 minutes walk away.

It is within close proximity (20 - 25 kms) to Salzburg, Austria and to Kelstein (Eagles Nest) and Konigsee. Bad Reichenhall has a country-feel about the town.

We wanted to wash our own clothes but we could not find a laundry or washerie in Bad Reichenhall. We drove to Birchtesgarden to wash our clothes. You can get your washing done by the hotel, but this may be costly, depending on the amount of washing you have.
