Outstanding location overlooking the mountains and pastures. Very courteous and attentive owners just topped the trip off!

Nothing - was absolutely perfect!

We spent 2 nights at Backeralm, and we really enjoyed the mountains view from our room balcony and dinning room. The hosts Ingolf & Heidi are very nice people doing all possible to make our stay perfect. Ingolf gave us his suggestions on how and where to go on those 2 days, he assisted us with maps, illustrations and very helpful tips. All in all our stay was really beautiful and I highly recommend the place for any visitors seeking for a quiet and friendly environment with a great location/view.

We stayed at Backeralm for 3 nights at the beginning of Sept. It was wonderful and the views were great. I was looking for a quiet bed and breakfast with mountain views and this was perfect. My husband and I were in a downstairs room which looked out to the mountains and was very comfortable. My 23 year old son was in the single room upstairs with the shower and was also comfortable. The breakfast room is charming and you are served a typical German breakfast. Actually, we met Heidi and Ingolf at a local Cheese shop so I can tell you the milk, cheese, eggs and yogurt are the best and very fresh! We had some rain and Ingolf sent us on a great itinerary despite the weather. Finally, we are deeply indebted to these folks as we noticed upon our arrival in Munich that my husband's wallet was lost. We emailed Ingolf and he spread the word throughout the town. It was found and turned in to the police. Ingolf has now mailed it to us.

We have stayed at literally hundreds of hotels and guesthouses over our many years of travel and we have never met two more hospitable, friendly, helpful and kind people as Ingold and Heidi, the husband and wife team that own this comfortable and charming gasthaus. Ingold and Heidi are extremely familiar with their surroundings and go out of their way to put you on the right path. Aside from their day to day courtesy these two individuals literally helped my wife survive a serious physical problem while we were there by getting her medical help through their personal physician which allowed us to continue our European trip in good health. We are grateful for their help and we think a stay at their guesthouse is beneficial to those traveling in the Garmisch and Mittenwald area. Our five days with Ingold and Heidi are unmatched in any of our European travels over the past 25 years.

We recently stayed at the Bäckeralm and we were so happy we did. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean and views were unbelievable, but we especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast in the morning with the incredible views and speaking with Ingolf and Heidi. Ingolf was very helpful when it came to our plans for the day and very helpful with suggestions on where to eat each evening. It was also extremely helpful that they took credit cards. We would definitely recommend Mittenwald and the Bäckeralm to anyone and will definitely be back. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

The location is fabulous band the host cannot do enough for you. both Heidi and Ingolf are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. I would definitely return if again in Bavaria. Highly recommend

We have used this hotel previously and as always, it is a pleasure to stay there. The location is a little way out of the town of Mittenwald but for us the tranquility of the setting and outstanding views of the mountains are exceptional. The owners go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible and with good breakfasts and easy access to evening restaurants in the town we find this an ideal base to explore this part of Bavaria.

Access up a very steep driveway may be a problem for some but having own transport we did not find this an issue for concern

This was the mostw charming accidental find! Spectacular views of the mountains and perfect accessibility to many castles and sites. We would definitely recommend this Inn. It is just out of town but the area is like a storybook.

Great location close to Mittenwald. Lovely views of mountains and a nearby lake. The room was large with a comfortable bed. Ingolf and Heidrun are lovely hosts and can't do enough to help. Plenty of free parking, but the drive is steep. A good basic guest house with charming hosts. I would not hesitate to stay there again

Breakfast is basic but plentiful. Carpets are worn but clean.

We loved our stay at Backeralm. The owners are delightully friendly, and were extremely helpful in making excellent recommendations in the area for restaurants, activites, etc. We wish we could have stayed longer. The view from every room is incredible - waking up with the gorgeous Bavarian alps facing you, what could be better? This was our favorite experience of our two week visit to Germany! We would recommend Backeralm to anyone traveling in Bavaria who appreciates a homey, intimate stay in the countryside.

Nice location!

Can't add anything to the other 10 ratings. Everything was excellent. Heidi and Ingolf were the perfect hosts and very proud of their Hotel, and rightly so. Our only regret was we had a schedule to follow that didn't allow us to spend more time there.

Heel goed onderhouden gebouw. Heel nette kamers. Héél vriendelijke uitbaters. Eigenaar spreekt goed Duits én Engels. De ligging is adembenemend mooi!! Prijs/kwaliteit zeker ok. Ideaal ook voor mountainbikers wegens veel routes in de buurt.

Сам г.Миттенвальд маленький и заняться там нечем, кроме как совершать пешие прогулки и кататься на лыжах, но ближайший склон довольно посредственный и в самый раз для начинающих, опытным скучновато (подъемники работают до 16:30). Мимо отеля 4 раза в день проходит бесплатный автобус, что идет через подъемник и прибывает на ж/д станция Миттенвальда. Автобусы курсируют до 16:30, в остальное время на такси (стоимость 10-11 евро). Такси, кстати, в этом городе после 20 не найти:) Что касаемо проживания: очень уютный домашний отель. Чрезвычайно внимательные и предусмотрительные хозяева! Ингольф и Хайди сделают все, что бы вы себя чувствовали как дома. По началу это может смущать и даже как-то напрягать, но с каждым днем ты понимаешь, что они делают это от чистого сердца. Ощущение, что остановился у родственников, которые тебе дико рады и всячески пытаются угодить) Никак минусов при проживании я не заметила, кроме как расположения и инфроструктуры, но это все к самому г.Миттенвальд. Съедить можно в Гармиш (20 мин. на поезде) и в Инсбург (час на поезде по долине). И там и там интересно. Шоппинг лучше в Мюнхене или Инсбурге. Важно: перед поездкой уточняйте расписания поездов до Миттенвальда, потому что в ночное время они не ходят.

г. Миттенвальд скучный. 10 дней без авто - это много.

Le fait d'encaisser le montant total du séjour( taxe de séjour incluse !) 10 secondes après la réservation ,c'est à dire 3 mois avant,et ce sans prévenir au moment où le client réserve. Ce serait pour le moins correct de prévenir!

Die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück war immer frisch und reichlich mit viel Auswahl. Die Zimmer sind gemütlich eingerichtet. Man kann sich hier einfach nur Wohlfühlen.

Liebevoll geführtes Inhaberhotel in spektakulärer Lage mit fantastischem Panoramablick auf die Buckelvwiesen und den Karwendel.
