This family-run, non-smoking hotel enjoys a tranquil, green setting in Karlsruhe, just a few minutes’ walk from the main train station, the main shopping street and the exhibition centre.

Close to the beautiful palace gardens, the Barbarossa also benefits from good public transport links, as well as a convenient location close to the motorway, allowing you to reach all destinations with ease.

A peaceful night’s sleep at this hotel is guaranteed due to its position in a traffic-calmed area. Some of the cosy, well-equipped rooms also come with free wireless LAN.

A delicious and fresh breakfast is served in the mornings, either in the breakfast room or your own bedroom. In nice weather, smokers can have their breakfast and cigarette on the patio.

All older children or adults are charged EUR 10.00 per night and person for extra beds.

Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

Deposit

100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.

Area information

Just a one-minute walk takes you to a spa centre with a swimming pool and saunas. Bathrobes and towels are available for hire there. A gym with sauna is equally close by, and offers discounts for hotel guests.

The main railway station can be reached on foot in just 10 minutes, or by using either the tram lines 2 and 3 or the S-Bahn (city rail) lines S1, S4 and S11.

The Oberwald forest is ideal for jogging and is located just 5-8 minutes away from the hotel. Within the Oberwald is a deer park, which is open to all. From here, it is only a 3-minute walk to the Tiergarten.

The Schlossgarten (palace garden) is likewise ideal for jogging and taking a walk, and is only a 15-minute walk away from the hotel.

Shopping facilities are located around the Werderplatz square. The main shopping street is Kaiserstrasse, which can be reached on foot in just 15 minutes.

Please note that the hotel's reception is only open until 21:00 on Fridays.

On Saturdays and Sundays it is open from 08:00 until 10:00, and from 16:00 until 21:00.

It was very nice, altough the hotel is quite old. Breakfast included. Clean but old. Nice atmosphere. Not far from the center.
