Barceló Hamburg    

We were there just to enjoy Hamburg and our Hotel was great. The location very close to the Station, Shopping, The Lake and the ease of walking everywhere. The staff at the Hotel were very courteous and the meals were excellent.

Great service. Good information of the area. The front desk had great recommendations on local museums and restaurants. The train station is only a 5 minute walk and has many great small restaurants to eat and drink

Very poor functional design: the closet door in the first room would not open and had to change rooms. In the second room, the safe door interfered with the proper opening of the closet door. Also, the sink did not drain very well. Overall, this place should be in better condition for being so no. I would not stay here again. Was not told internet password upon check-in so had to call back down. Then it was limited to only a few devices so had to call back and get more setup. Just a hassle that I'd rather not be bothered with.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful with directions. Location was excellent: 3 closeby train stations and very central, beside Alster lake, closeby touristy spots. The rooms were new, very comfy beds (difficult to leave the room!) Price was reasonable for the convenience. I also liked the Barcelo hotel big sign that helped us find the hotel when we were lost walking in the streets.

A in hotel spa with massage services would make it perfect!

Good service, nice staff, really clean and a really excellent location (5 minutes from the main station and 5 minutes to the city and the Alster). No problem to leave your luggage after check out while exploring the city a bit more.

No door in the shower so it was pretty cold. Service include shampoo, showergel and some stuff for cleaning shoes and a sewing kit. But even in a 2 star hotel we got some slippers, a toothbrush and a hairbrush, really missed that here. The minibar and the breakfast is way to expensive (3€ for 0.3l water..)

Internet wifi did not work well. Witch is essential nowadays... "Got download limit" all the time. Even though i had´nt used it for 24 hours.

Bar. I ordered a Bellini. It was served with some peach water ( the like you get in starbucks) instead of peach puree. Tasted awful. No big deal though. Beer was tasty.

The location: ideal for main train station and shopping area. The room was hard to fault - great bed and rain shower.

If I had to pick something then I would say the bar area - there wasn't one. Also, a table in the room would have been nice.

De kamers zijn erg modern, maar toch nog romantisch. Geen fel licht. Praktisch ingericht. Sauna is aanwezig. Parkeergarage onder het hotel. Op loopafstand van de winkels.

* On the second floor was not so good sound proofing. Our room was not far away from a lift and we can hear a sound of the working lift. However, it wasn't critical.

A double room should have a kins size bed and not two separate beds that are on wheels and travel on their own.
