Grand City Excelsior Hotel Berlin

The hotel is very close to the railway station near the Zoo, so it is very convenient to reach there by train or S-bahn. There is a supermarket aside of the S-bahn exit, so you can easily buy drinks and food there. The hotel looks very magnificant from outside.

The hotel management should be improved significantly. The housekeeping knocked at the door at 8:00 clock for cleaning. The even awful thing was that you need to be very careful to check where the bedsheet and towels are new when you check in!! My own experience was that in the first night we checked in, when I made the bed for my son at night, I was shocked to see a blood stain on the quilt cover: some scabs of blood can be clearly seen. Clearly when the last guest checked out the room the housekeeping did not changed the bedding. I called the front desk, a lady came in quickly and changed the bedding for both beds. I have never met such situation in past 20 years in a 4-starred hotel.

Good locaton. It's clean and commfortable. Price is ok.

Cost, cleanliness, and fine curtious staff. All went well and very efficient. It was even better than I expected, and I would stay there again

When attacked by mosquitos(TRUE) in the room i was moved without fuss to another room immediately. The very polite and courteous staff were great at all times.

Good location for getting around the city.

I would expect at least the Internet access included for this kind of price. As a service, this is very cheap to provide and would greatly improve the value for your guests. Also breakfast for 16 EUR is far too much. Don't think this was a 4 star hotel level.

we didn t like that on the Monday morning near our room were some renovation works, and it seemed us too early, we couldn t sleep :(....i would be ok, that they will make them from 10 00 ? :(

My booking was acknowledged promptly by reception staff. Breakfasts were very good. Room quiet and comfortable

The hotel was outside all the busy tourist street but easy to access from the airport via the train. It was also only 10-15 minutes by train to the tourist sites. Good shopping close by. The restaurant in the hotel was very nice and reasonably priced

We thought the breakfast was a bit expensive but there were plenty of places to eat outside of the hotel. Just a small complaint, the toilet paper was the worst I have ever had in a hotel let alone a 4 star hotel.

The location was the only good point. near the metro, s-bahn and railway and the shops on Kudam not too far away either.

Too numerous to mention all - serious plumbing problems neccessitated a rapid vaccation of the room - no apologies from hotel. Reception staff was unfriendly and sullen, more concerend with their monitors than guests. Rooms 20 years behind times. Kettle and cups but no tea or coffee, when queried on the second morning we received some but the cups were not washed and saches not replaced. There was a mini-bar and a tray with 3 beer? glasses and an opener but the bar was empty.

Good Location. Good price. Good room
