The receptionist cum cleaner cum cook cum bar man was absolutely lovely. Made my three year old hot chocolate which he had not had and loved. Pleased a 16 month old with a good breakfast of meat and cheese. They both enjoyed the bunk bed. Very quiet but drive able distance to st goar.

Bathroom was a bit smelly but a lot of apologises for the staff for this.

This was our second stay at this hotel as an overnight stop travelling back to the UK. It is an excellent cheap basic hotel with clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Good adequate breakfast. Excellent food in restaurant at reasonable price and good beer and wine from the bar! We will stay there again.

Very nice hotel with friendly obliging English speaking staff. Good food and party atmosphere. Hotel can provide tickets for Rhine boat trip and take you to departure point and collect you on return in the 'Winzerhaus Shuttle' minibus. Short walk to Loreley viewpoint overlooking Rhine Gorge.

    Liked everything

In our experience, pretty much the standard German family guesthouse, adequate facilities, good service and Restaurant. Advantages include the proximity to the Maria Rhu viewing area over the Loreley and the more than adequate English of several staff members.

We were asked if we minded parking elsewhere to assist Restaurant customers but with a car full of luggage we declined. A polite request and no problems when we felt we couldn't.

Out of the touristic hustle & bustle. Mr Beckmann makes a lovely cup of English tea. Our experience of English tea in Germany is Assam - horrible scented sweet taste. 100% happy with that and looked forward to it every morning at breafast.

The fact that because my Wife is disabled Mr Beckmann told me that she had only 3 steps to go to the restraunt, but we were over the road in an annexe with a group of Australian youths 18 - 35. We are double that age and the room was a typical youth hostel place. We refused it and was given a decent room but loads of stairs for my wife to climb. We never did get that welcom drink that was offered on arrival and the morning we left we were asked if we had paid or not. My Wife paid in Euros at breakfast the very first morning we were there. It left a very bad taste to us to be asked this. Would reckon anyone else to pay with a credit card.

The owner was very nice- when I complained about the noise from other guests, he was very apologetic and compensated me with a nice bottle of wine. The restaurant is convenient, and breakfast was good.

The room was pretty spartan, almost like a hostel. On the occasion we were there, a large tour group of college students was also staying there, and they were extremely loud, yelling and running around in the halls, keeping my children up until about 2 am. It might be a nice place to stay at other times, but I felt very uncomfortable- like I was staying in a college dorm.
