The room we had overlooking the Rhein was superb and had a balcony. This is a high quality hotel of the old style. For such an expensive hotel I would have expected wifi to be available in the rooms not just on the 1st floor (free for 6 hours). There was a work station for guest use but there was no printer attached. The room itself was hot with no air conditioning. Opening the window was not really an option - if you don't like train noise then don't stay here or anywhere else on the Mittelrhein for that matter. Trains run both sides of the river, the far bank being very busy with noisy freight trains all through the night.

Service provided by the staff was excellent .All were extremely helpful and welcoming, without being intrusive. The location was great and the food tasty. The spa was clean and quiet -perfect! In the evening at about 10pm every night, from our balcony we could smell unpleasant cleaning or dishwasher odours wafting up from the kitchen (or pool?) below. We had to shut the doors and go inside because of it.

Beautiful location. All staff helpful and friendly. High standard of cleanliness and decor. The breakfast is wonderful in terms of choice, variety and quality. 1. The restaurant menu is unchanged for 7 days - therefore there is very little variety if the length of stay is longer than a few days - disappointing for a 4 star hotel of this quality. There is only one fixed vegetarian option for the whole week (although staff were helpful in negotiating an alternative choice if asked). 2. There were no curtains or blinds on the bathroom window or the glass bathroom door of our room, resulting in too much light in the early morning.

Excellent hotel with old world charm in the best of locations in Boppard on the banks of the Rhine. Will definitely stay again, but in a room with a balcony overlooking the Rhine and dine at the Mozart restaurant on the ground floor. Very helpful staff. Truly superb! Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would be a great addition.

Very comfortable room with excellent view over the Rhine. Exceptional buffet breakfast. 'Le Jardin' garden and outside eating area very enjoyable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend it very highly and intend to stay there again in the future. Car parking may be problematic if not reserved.

Found the staff very helpful. The food was very good as were the facilities on offer. Cleanliness overall was very good. Although the secure car parking was a plus, it was a distance from the Hotel. Air conditioning is a must in Hotels today, although the age of this Hotel did preclude it's installation - the offer of a fan in the temperatures we found on our stay would have been a benefit.

The hotel is in front of the river. Hot water didn't sometimes work. My wife was very angry against not washing her hair.

The Brasserie was very tasty (soup was very salty though) and the staffs were very friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable even with our little baby. We thought it was a good 3 star hotel, not 4 star. The room was old (matres was very old and too soft to sleep, we had a terrible backache after sleeping for 3 nights), no bath (only shower is not acceptable), and it was not so clean (hair remaining from former guest) etc... If it was a 3 star with 120 Euros per room instead of 140 Euros, we can understand, but we honestly didn't think it was a 4 star quality...

This hotel is a lovely old elegant hotel right on the Rhine, I would love to go back again someday. Parking is a problem, if you book far enough in advance, book a parking spot with them, if not make sure you talk with them when you get there about where to park, the lack of sufficiant parking is the only negative point to this lovely hotel.

We enjoyed the views the comfort and the very friendly courteous staff. The food in all the restaurants was excellent. We only wish our stay could have been longer. We were a little disappointed that the toilet and bathroom were not connected, to wash our hands we had to walk through the bedroom to the shower room,we appreciate that the building has a very long history but a hand basin would have been appreciated

This is a very conveneient location to see the life on the Rhine. If you can get a river view room it gives you good views of the transportation on the river and its a very nice scene especially from the upper floors. The hotel is right on the rier front and the walks along the riverfront is great. Very convenient location to explore the beautiful Boppard area.

Nice hotel with lovely interior. Central, if somewhat noisy, location overlooking the Rhine. Although the hotel confirmed our booking they neglected to inform us that they had not reserved a garage space as requested. This is unacceptable service. They were very apologetic and even offered to drive our car around until they found a parking space! After nearly an hour we eventually parked at the railway station overnight but had to move the car in the morning and find another space until a vacancy became available in the garage (about 2 blocks away). If travelling by car you must ring them to confirm whether they have reserved a space in the garage as parking can be very difficult in Boppard at peak periods.

The location was fabulous, lovely being able to eat outside in a very pretty riverside patio area. Also great to be able to have a swim everyday. I certainly think we made a very good choice,we did have a river view so that made all the differnce. The set menu for dinner was really good but did not change every day which we found unusual.

The spa is excellent, the breakfast had a very wide range of selection, the staff were efficient and friendly. The boattrip that starts in front of the hotel is a great way to relax (on a sunny day). There is not much to see in the village but we were staying only a day so it was perfect. The cleaning lady woke us up at 8.30am even though we had the don't disturb sign on and knocked on our door again after breakfast - when we mentioned at the reception, they were very apologetic so this was hopefully just an isolated case.
