Located 1.5 km from the Riedlberg ski lift, this guest house is quietly situated at the foot of the Großen Albers Mountain. It features a sauna, and provides direct access to the Zellertal hiking trail. The bright rooms at Berggasthof Hochstein are fitted with wooden furniture and a private bathroom. Satellite TV is available on request, and some rooms have a balcony. The country-style restaurant serves regional specialities, with a rich buffet breakfast offered each morning. Bodenmais Train Station is a 13-minute drive from the guest house, and the A3 motorway can be reached in 45 minutes. Free private parking is available. The staff were friendly and approachable, and bore patiently with my mangling of German language; spoke some English themselves which helped things a lot. The rooms were clean and well-kept, in the kind of style that suits me best; Spartan but comfortable. The building and area are extremely quiet thanks to their seclusion, and the surrounding area is highly attractive. Breakfast was of good quality, German traditional-style is a great way to start the day. It was easy to settle up in the morning, and we even got a friendly wave goodbye. How many city hotels can say the same? Slight problems with water-pressure and temperature.

Die Gastfreundlichkeit Wir wünschen den neuen Besitzern viel Erfolg für die neue Aufgabe welcher Sie sich gestellt haben. Wir werden mit Sicherheit wieder kommen. Hilde u. Hans Wondratschek Gast vom 17.09-20.09.12 das nicht erwähnt wurde, daß das Hotel neu übernommen wurde und sich im Umbruch befindet.

Close promixity of forest to walk through, very large and comfortable room. Location just a tad TOO secluded - hard to get transport to/from. Had a weird plague of flies in my room. Didn't get room service for days.
