It was beautiful, clean, and we got a suite for a great price! The bathroom was a little small but very nice.

It was comfortable and central so we could reach other good spots in Berlin. Despite room service, we would have liked a kettle in the room for early morning tea/coffee rather than disturb the staff - also there were no toiletries provided apart from a shower soap.

The position was convenient for my specific business purposes Service was perfunctory. The roomservice didn't live up to what was advertised, ie 24/7, and was woefully inadequate. The area has become overrun by mass tourism.

The location is good - just beside U bahn. The staff were pleasant and the breakfast superb. However our room overlooked an atrium surrounded by other rooms and above the basement conference centre. You could not see the sky and the room was gloomy and dark even with lights on. We had booked a 'special offer' which included dinner bed and breakfast - don't ever do this. At the hotel we were given a voucher for a Booking.com meal. This bore no resemblance to the meals enjoyed by other customers in the restaurant. We had no choice - the starter was tomato soup, main course pasta with tomato sauce (veggie) or pasta with turkey and dessert was tiramasu. We felt like the kids on free school dinners and thought this a cynical rip off on the part of booking.com as there was no mention of this voucher system in offer.

The staff were so accommodating and helpful and were gracious when asked any number of questions. The hotel rooms were ultra quiet so we slept comfortably. The location was exactly as described on the web site. The only downside was the availabilty of good restaurants in that particular area but everything else made up for that. Our compliments to their staff.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Everyone we came into contact with spoke excellent English. Room was spacious and comfortable, with excellent air-conditioning (it was hot the weekend we were there) and a nicely fitted bathroom with double shower. Hotel is located seconds from the UBahn station at Kochstrasse, and minutes from Checkpoint Charlie and the Jewish Museum. Bar has more character than those of many hotels and is reasonably priced. Although we ate out in the mornings, they do offer a choice of a "little breakfast" of coffee and croissants for a few euro as well as the full buffet. We ate in the restaurant one night and there was only one waitress on duty who, whilst charming and keen to help, was clearly under-prepared for running the restaurant alone. We were told that a wine we wanted wasn't available, yet they had it in the bar when we went in later. One minor gripe over a very enjoyable 4 day weekend.

Excellent location for exploring all the main sights in Berlin and very close to the U-Bahn, good hotel design and very clean, It appears you can't get a proper double bed in this hotel, but rather two single mattresses pushed together leaving a gap down the middle - I think most people would expect better in a 4 star hotel. Breakfast is outrageously expensive to add to your room - I believe the hotel wanted something in the region of 40 Euros a day, that's 120 Euros for three mornings, no thank you. There's a good cafe opposite though which is cheap and does excellent hot drinks, pastries etc.

It was extremely comfortable, quiet, well located for my sightseeing interests. The staff were all very helpful and spoke English well. The bed and bedding were extremely comfortable and the room spacious enough for two people, although I was only one. The bathroom was well equipped with a very good shower and plump towels. My only complaints are that the television, which got tons of channels, did not get any channels in English, or if it did, I was not able to find any easily. Also, the restaurant did not have any croissants for breakfast. I didn't want the large buffet breakfast, just the Continental. That was disappointing.

It was right by Kochstrasse underground station on U6 and two minutes walk on the same road as Checkpoint Charlie. Wonderfully situated for Checkpoint Charlie, Topography of Terror, Stasi Security exhibition, shopping on Friedrickstrassse, Xmas market at Gendarmenmarkt - staff very helpful and friendly and room very clean and very comfortable. No tea or coffee in room but drinks in mini-bar included in price.

This is a good value and centrally located hotel - just at the edge of Mitte, next to a metrostation (Checkpoint charlie area). Clean and comfortable rooms. My main reason for staying here several times is that rooms look onto a courtyard, which makes you can sleep with open windows without traffic noise. As in most hotels, breakfast is overpriced - don't bother paying for breakfast - there are plenty of bakeries and coffee places within 100 meters. Second - and I'm afraid hotel chains just don't understand how much customers feel ripped off by this - wifi is not included in the room rate.

Fantastic service, and excellent amenities. I spend a lot of time on the road each year and was impressed by the excellent breakfast (Booking.com managed to have it included in my room cost, it normally is not), the wi-fi is free (the website for the hotel suggests otherwise), and there is a nice fitness facility that is open 24/7. I would gladly stay there again.

The only thing I liked was that there is a free wifi. The hotel is not so bad as i've just described but it is extremely expansive for Berlin (100euro per night in average without breakfast!) ! You can find much better deals arround...

Good location near the legendary "check point charlie", parking in garage for 15 eur, but you can also leave the car arround the corner on the street, many places for breakfest out of hotel, close the freeway, good hotel for good monay.

We liked the quality of the breakfast (while it is expensive), and the helpful attitude of the reception staff. The access to rooms is not fully wheelchair and pram friendly: from the reception you need to go down 5-6 stairs. We had a pram and two persons, so this was not a huge thing. Also, we did not ask if there is another way to get to the elevators.

Great staff, great location only one block from Checkpoint Charlie and walking distance to much of the major areas, yet very quiet at night. We have been all over Europe with very indifferent service of hotel rooms. Angleterre was great--actually cleaned the room thoroughly and restocked every day, which we have found increasingly rare. Desk staff knowledgeable and helpful. The only suggestion I could make was to provide better reading light, esp. Near the beds.
