Since it opened in 1902, the hotel has been a family-run establishment which captivates through its personal, friendly service and comfort.

Area information

This lively city by a fjord is renowned for its annual "Kiel Week" and water sports, but offers many more activities and attractions besides.

In addition to the city centre's shopping streets, you can visit the numerous restaurants beside the fjord, or go for a stroll along the Kiellinie promenade and the Hindenburgufer area beyond it.

The newly built terminal for cruise ships located at the beginning of the Kiellinie, in proximity to Kiel's "Kunsthalle" gallery, gives a good view of the large "Pötte" which sail across the seven seas.

Travel information

This hotel is only a minute away from the main train station and from the central bus station. The Kiel-Holtenau airport can be reached in 20 minutes and the Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel airport is an hour away. The harbour for the Scandinavian ferries and the cruise liners is very close by. From all directions, it is quite easy to find the hotel.

There are 30 car park spaces as well as 2 garages on site. The parking area is locked at night.

Important information

Please note that the breakfast room will be undergoing renovation work between the 28 November 2009 and February 2010. However, breakfast will still be available for guests in the nearby Madiera restaurant. The bar will also be closed during this period.
