Best Western Hotel Kurfürst Wilhelm I.  

Hotel is very near the train station and there are 2 supermarkets next to the hotel - very convenience.

All staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to main train station and local transportation. They even provided the tram tickets, which was excellent. The room was very comfortable and a good size. I didn't feel cramped for space. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and satisfying. I'd stay at the Best Western Hotel Kurfurst Wilhelm again and I would certainly recommend it to other travellers to Kassel.

Direct connection with the centre of Kassel. There's a tram-station (bahnhof Willemshöhe) next to the hotel. Breakfast was in a crowded room with tiny space and small tables, but the presented choice of foods was very ok. A cozy balcony for two. Very nice situated, just outside the centre, but with good connection by tram and train.

the bed is very comfortable and staff are very friendly. Selection of food of the breakfast is good. Just tiny matter - stain on the shower curtain and on the telephone, apart from this the experience was generally good and should be one of the very high standard accommodation in this small town.

I arrived the day after my first booked night but didn't have to pay for the missed night, that I had been forced to spend in Frankfurt. Great! I got a tram ticket for my stay during documenta! Great. Everything was clean and neat and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast just outside the hotel was a joy. The hotel is easily accessible just outside the Bahnhof Wilhelmshöhe and the tram goes directly to the center of town where documenta has its headquarters. Great in every respect!

The location of hotel is perfect! 1 minute on foot to Wilhelmshoehe ice/ic Bahnhof, located directly in front of Bus/Tram station, ca 7 minutes by Tram1 to Wilhelmshoehe (Bergpark, Schloss Wilhelmshoehe mit Gemaeldegalerie alte Meister, Loewenburg), ca 13-15 minutes by Tram1 to city centre (Fredrichsplatz). A ticket for public transport was a gratis. 2. The hotel personal were very friendly and helpful. My stay in Kassel was very limited but they gave me a good advice, so I experienced most of wonderful things in addition to a part of Documenta in such a short stay in Kassel (from 11:00 on 13July to 10:00 on 14July). 3. The breakfast is very nice, all drinks in the mini-bar in the room were also gratis. In short, I am absolutely satisfied with Best Western Hotel Kurfuerst Wilhelm I. Thanks

Friendly reception cosy atmosphere

I had such a terrific stay at the Best Western Kurfurst Wilhelm! The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially Annette who was just so friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast for only 5euro. I was in town for the Documenta art exhibition. The hotel had all the information for the exhibition, you could even buy tickets there and it was an easy tram trip to the venues. The room was clean, comfortable and a good size. I have no complaints at all, and I would highly recommend the hotel.

Een prima hotel voor een zakelijk kort verblijf. Geen luxe maar wel comfortabel en schoon. Onbijt is perfect en lekker vroeg.

Gutes sehr preiswertes Frühstück. Kostenlose Minibar. Ruhe. ICE_Bahnhofnähe. Kostenloses Ticket für alle Busse und Straßenbahnen. Nähe zwischen Innenstadt und Schlossmuseum.

Doe Zimmer waren abgewohnt. Sanierungsbedarf im Bad!

J'ai apprécié la situation proche de la gare, la possibilité de dîner au bar pour un prix raisonnable, la grande chambre, la décoration sobre et de bon goût, les infusions et la machine à expresso à disposition, le minibar et le réseau sans fil gratuits, le réglage du chauffage (chaud dans la salle de bains, modéré dans la chambre) et le calme. (Contrairement à ce que je craignais, le bruit de roulement des trams ne m'a pas dérangé.) En résumé, cet hôtel offre des prestations supérieures à celles d'établissements plus chers, qui de plus font payer cher ce que le Kurfürst Wilhelm I. met à disposition sans supplément (minibar & internet).

Ich habe ein ruhiges Zimmer bekommen und gut geschlafen. W-Lan funktioniert.

Das Hotel entspricht mit seiner alten Ausstattung, die an Jugendherberge erinnert, nicht einem 4-Sterne-Hotel. Das Frühstück war nur Discounterware (abgesehen von den frischen Brötchen). Billiger Saft, abgepackte Wurst, Fruchtjoghurt aus dem Eimer. Grundsätzlich kann man in diesem Hotel übernachten und es ist in Ordnung. Der Preis ist 30 Euro zu teuer und der dritte und der vierte Stern sind ein Witz. Im Winter würde man sich übrigens auch freuen, wenn die Heizung nicht abgestellt wäre und das Zimmer nicht ausgekühlt ist. Man kann die Heizung aber selber ein- und ausstellen (Vorteil der guten alten Heizkörper unter der Fensterbank). Nach einer halben Stunde war es dann warm und man konnte den Wintermantel ausziehen. Freie Minibar heißt: sechs kleine Getränkeflaschen zur Auswahl (Wasser, A-Saft, O-Saft, Cola, Fanta und eine Flasche Bier). Nett, wenn man Getränke auf dem Zimmer hat, aber kein geldwerter Vorteil.

Großes, helles Zimmer. Freundliches Personal. Da das Zimmer auch nachts sehr hell war (Weihnachtsbeleuchtung und Leuchtreklame vom Bahnhof), bot man uns umgehend zwei Ersatzzimmer zur Auswahl an. Minibar ist kostenlos und wird täglich nachgefüllt. Frühstücksbuffet ist gut und reichlich, wenn auch nicht außergewöhnlich - im Vergleich zu den umliegenden Hotels aber sehr preisgünstig. Kostenlose Fahrkarte für ÖPNV. Man kann gut in den Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe spazieren, aber auch rasch in die Stadt gelangen. Angenehme Altbauatmosphäre und überschaubare Größe.

Die Helligkeit im Zimmer und die mangelhafte Verdunklungsmöglichkeit durch die relativ dünnen Gardinen. Hier wären Rolläden angebrachter, da durch die Leuchtreklame immer Licht ins Fenster fällt. Als wir ankamen war das Zimmer nicht wirklich sauber und zwei Glühbirnen defekt. Im Laufe des Aufenthalts wurde aber gut gereinigt. Die Ersatzzimmer, die uns freundlicherweise angeboten wurden kamen nicht in Frage, weil das ein ein Raucherzimmer war (und stark gerochen hat) und das andere sehr klein. Trotzdem ist es positiv zu vermerken, dass uns dieses Angebot ohne Nachfrage gemacht wurde. Ich hatte lediglich geäußert, dass es sehr hell im Zimmer sei. Insgesamt haben wir uns wohl gefühlt!
