The room was clean, the breakfast was tasty, the bathroom appears to have been for my sole use, although it was outside the room. Once I had checked in, I had everything that I needed. The room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom was new and also clean. I didn't realize that there would be no staff present at the hotel most of the time. When I arrived, my key didn't work in the door, and I had to wait 25 minutes outside for someone to meet me to bring me a new key. Also, I needed to call someone to arrange to get the key in the first place. Since I don't have a local phone, it was expensive to make this call. Also, they should put something into the hallways (carpet?) to damp some of the noise within the hotel. It was very noisy whenever anyone came and went into the hallway. Last, although I didn't mind this so much, people should be aware that there are quite steep and narrow stairs up to some of the rooms with no lift.

The location is very convenient, in view of the train station. The price is excellent. Although the Booking website said the reception is open until 2000 (800pm) it closes at 1900 (700pm). However, they made arrangements to take care of my entry, and payment. It worked well for me.

Convenient location to the hauptbahnhof and old town. I checked in after 5pm on a weekday and was at first confused on how to check in. There is a sign for the hotel on the street and another in a small courtyard. No sign of a reception desk, but being a budget hotel with only a handful of rooms that's to be expected. There's a sign on the door just below the hotel sign of the street directing guests to call a phone number. You call, get a receptionist who's obviously elsewhere. He directs you to go towards the courtyard, but just prior to entering the courtyard, look right towards a doorway (which at night is dimly lit). Locate a yellow box on the wall to the left of the door, then the guy over the phone gives you a PIN number to enter. Out pops your room key just like a vending machine.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. When I arrived during the scheduled check-in time, there was no one here to greet me. I waited for 30mins and then had to go to a nearby hotel to have them call Hotel Blume to find out where the receptionist was. They apologized and said they would be there shortly.... No one arrived. After waiting an hour in the cold, I had to leave my luggage unattended and go back to the neighboring hotel to have them call Hotel Blume again. This time they told me that my room key was in a lock box in the courtyard. I do not understand why this information was not told to me earlier. In addition, the kitchen in my room was dirty with old food dried on the countertops and dishes. Moreover, during the first two days of my stay the dining room where the complementary breakfast is served was locked - during the morning hours that it should be open.

Its a few minutes walk from the station, tram/bus and a supermarket are very nearby. The buffet breakfast saves having to find somewhere. We were in a room in the roof so I was concerned about stooping and getting back ache. I think this room had the smallest basin I've ever seen. Though there is enough storage space there are never enough hangers (just one in the room we had).

Nothing will nevber stay or recomend this hotel to anyone It looked nothing like the picture. It was miles away from anything. There was no staff at the hotel when we arrived we had to call them and wait 30 mins for them to arrive to let us in then there was a huge spiral staircase to climb to access rooms.

Very close to the trainstation and easy access to the city. Quiet location, fairly big rooms. Interior design is more original than what you usually see (but of course, subject to taste). Both days we stayed, breakfast was decent for us. Some of our rooms had a shared toilet and a bathroom/shower outside the room, and you could lock yourself out. Hasn't happened, but it would have been a pain as there is no reception after 15:00. Booking didn't come through properly; we were only booked for 1 day instead of 2. Fortunately, the rooms weren't double booked. Some rooms were listed as "single" on this site, while they were really the same as the double room we booked. The price difference obviously wasn't worth it (but it was still a good price). Being 2m tall, the beds were too small for me, but there was no board at my feet so it was ok.

Hotel Blume was one of the most outstanding experiences of our travel to Germany. Originally we had booked the cheaper accommodation in their budget hotel and were guaranteed a room on the ground floor with own bathroom. However at our arrival we were told that that part of the hotel had been overbooked by mistake and that we therfor had been upgraded to their 4- star Hip Hotel Résidence right in the Altstadt (and the center of interest for us) at the same price as the original booking was quoted. We have never experienced such generosity of dealing with an error and appreciated this service and this action enormously. I can only warmly recommend the hotel from every point of view and would definitely stay there again on our next visit. It is rare indeed in our world of greed to find this sort of assistance and generosity. The hotel is comfortable and well run, extremely well placed right in the middle of the beautiful 'Altstadt' (old city) of Heidelberbg, cheerful and the themed rooms are fun. Highly recommended

Staff speaks only German, to communicate she had all the times to call her boss to translate, No staff after 15. Arrived in the evening and was not warned in advance that in order to get in would have to call by phone (it was just a luck that I had a reservation paper with a phone number on it with me).

The once triple room is really nice. - There is no reception room. Someone can see you (or not) waiting outside the hotel and come. After give you the key card for the room, they leave the hotel and you have to keep your card key with you all the time. - There`s no instruction in case of emergence and nobody in the hotel will come if you loose your card key. - They don`t speak english. - The bedroom in one of the double room is outside. - One of the double room is on the 4th floor without lift. - The breakfast is very poor, don`t wait for a big deal. - No parking.

It is very easy to reach by car. There is plenty of parking space around and the hotel can provide you with a parking card. The station is less than 5 min walking and there are trams and buses overnight to go and come back from the center. I think the location is great. The breakfast in the hotel is very basic, do not expect anything outstanding.

The hotel was very near the Hauptbahnhof. (Always good for railway travellers.) The room was immaculately clean, and decorated like an ikea showroom, with pretty silky curtains and a rose-red big sofa under the window. Should be adequate for business travellers making just short stay. It seemed that no staff were on duty at night. Even a notice was posted at the entrance informing lodgers than in case emergency at night, they should ring the other branch in another location. (Well, fortunately I did not run into any emergency...) Lodgers had to enter and exit the hotel with a security card. In fact, it was more a serviced apartment block than a hotel.

The price was reasonable for Heidelberg The booking details stated reception was open until 8pm. When we arrived in the late afternoon there was nobody there. The sign said to telephone a number. I do not speak good German and my mobile phone had no signal, so I had to ask a local hotel to phone up the reception. A man arrived and let us in. Our room was up two very narrow spiral staircases. As we we were on a cycling holiday (so are fit) and only had very small pannier bags, we could carry them up and down the stairs ok. Anyone unfit and with a big suitcase would not have managed. There should be a warning about these rooms.
