Hotel Eden - Am Hofgarten  

Hotel was very clean, comfortable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was great, too. I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip to Bonn.

The rooms are big and very convenient. The hotel is very quiet which is the most important criteria for me. Breakfast is good. Well located.

We were so very pleased with this hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was plentiful. The location was fabulous - close to everything and on a beautiful park. Our windows looked out into the branches of a chestnut tree. We could easily walk to the train station or catch the bus to the airport. Within 5 minutes was a choice of many restaurants or cafes, museums, shops. We liked it so much we booked in for another stay in three weeks!

Friendly hotel staff

I like the home atmosphere, tasty breakfast and friendly staff. The room was tiny but for the business trip it suits my needs well. Also it was very nice that hotel has internet wi-fi and charge only for connecting me, not for traffic. it was very conveinient.

Close enough to the University and the city centre to make everything within reasonable walking distance.

Poorly set up for anyone arriving by car. The "recommended" parking garage is in an obscure location and was full. Best to park at the "Markt" or the "University" parking garages. The fee for overnight parking in the "Markt" parking garage was only a Euro. The hotel staff had no knowledge of this, and I only found this by accident. Their system of leaving the key at the desk when leaving your room is somewhat archaic. Having to go through the annoyance of standing at the desk waiting to pick up one's key every single time got to be a bit of a chore. They need to upgrade to a proper card system. No air handling whatsoever in the rooms, which meant a great deal of street noise in our case, due to the need to keep a window open for some fresh air.

Very conveniently located just 5 minutes walk from main train station and city centre. Te breakfast was great and staff was courteous.

The University is just across the road so it was bit noisy even late in the nights and early morning 2/3 am. Also, I got it bit expensive because of trade fair but it was worth it for me. No elevator and I got a room on the third floor.

Very pleasant place, and a good location. I would stay there again.

The hotel room showed some signs of wear: there was something wrong with the curtain which I no longer remember precisely (maybe it was missing some of its hooks?) and the shower head didn't stay in place well (not a problem if you're not used to North American showers, I suppose).

I chose the Hotel Eden because it was economical (breakfast included), completely non-smoking and offered free internet. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is located across from a large park (Hofgarten). The windows in my room looked into the flowering trees, and the breakfast room has a glass wall looking into the park. The park is convenient for running, but the long path by the Rhine is only a few blocks further. Though I was traveling on business, I enjoyed staying in a hotel that didn't have a "corporate" atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is walking distance from the main train and bus station.

Two things that I didn't mind but could be drawbacks -- there is no elevator, and there is some traffic noise in the rooms overlooking the park. You can avoid the noise by asking for a room at the back.

Friendly/easy-going staff, free parking space in front of hotel

Walls extremely thin, no elevator just bumpy stairs so if you're staying on first floor prepare for a rude awakening as soon as the first people jump down the stairway with their suitcases bouncing behind them. Also the house cleaning was rather loud and careless which didn't improve having these extremely thin walls...
