In the charming East Frisian fishing village of Greetsiel, this charming hotel offers cozy accommodations within a lovingly restored historic building dating back to 1696.
Score from 199 reviews Very good
Lovely quiet location in a very pretty place. Very clean friendly staff who did try to understand us but spoke very little English.
No English Menu. Room was small and dark.
Very good atmosphere , very relaxing. We were given a room at the back and asked for one overlooking the canal, we were then given a really nice canal view room. We do not speak German but were helped as much as possible by the staff. Food was excellent.
Not that easy to find
Rooms clean Good beds Excellent breakfast/Brunch (This was on a Sunday) If you book directly at their website you get an upgrade if available (so it said on the bathroom mirror).
It's more of a restaurant with (compact) rooms than a hotel Reception desk was unattended (and used as a storage area), check-in at the restaurant bar Personnel (except for manager) not very hospitable (they were clearly hired to work in the restaurant and not to be host at a hotel). Restaurant/Bar was closed at 22hrs, no possibility for a cup of coffee/tea or drink after 22hrs. Hotel door was unlocked at night, with no one at the reception.
The beautiful location, very friendly staff, the excellent restaurant and the outstanding breakfast.
I find it unfriendly to customers having to leave the room at 10 when leaving the hotel. It is not something strictly related to this hotel but an annoying issue that should not be allowed to grow to a trend.
