Very friendly, clean, convenient, safe.
Noise travels through the hotel--but its a budget hotel, with small rooms, so that is expected.
Hotel is run by a family. The room is not decorated as a hotel room but a bedroom at home, it gave you a wonderful feeling back home. Hotel is very close to central train station, you can easily get to train station from hotel within 5 mins.
Location is very central. Great staff. Room spotless and the breakfast excellant. Great value for money. Would stay again.
Single room a bit small but considering the price still excellant value.
nothing to report
The hotel is pleasant, comfortable, and good location.
I booked the shared toilet; toilets and bathrooms are not available in every floor, I had to go down 1 floor for bathroom.
Perfect location, just 1 minutes walk from the central station. Lovely staff, clean rooms, good breakfast.
They didn't seem to have an elevator so if you're a solo traveller carrying a heavy luggage and get a room on the 3rd floor - you're screwed. I was happy with my cozy and clean room but I could smeel smoke (assuming a part of the hotel might have been smoking friendly) and you could hear very loudly the doors shutting from every corner of the hotel.
Location and breakfast was very good
wifi is low quality in rooms
Nice for short stay, Friendly stuff
They should change their pillows and maybe even mattresses.
The location close to rail and city
Friendly staff, comfortable room would be happy to go back and stay there again.
Kindness of staff, great breakfast, cleanness
low waterpressure, noise of other guests slamming their doors
The hotel is in a great location if you come by train. Just a couple of minutes walk. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast provides a very nice range of nutritional choice. Overall very clean and well maintained. Good value.
Not much really. Oh, the headphone jack in the TV didn't work and WLAN wasn't always working 100% of the time.
The location is perfect for those who want to get away for a weekend in the city. The Dom is at five minutes walking distance, which brings to directly to the heart of the city. The people were nice and friendly and breakfast was exuberant.
Parking was a bit difficult. They offer you a free of charge parking place (if you reserve on time) and all of this was well taken care of. But because you park in some kind of 'back yard', it is not great if you want to explore the outer parts of the city of the region, because it's not that easy to get in and out often. But nonetheless, everything was well taken care of and the owner helped us drive out of the parking area safely, which was so nice of him.
Good location - quiet street, but very close to Dom and train station. Parking was included in price (limited availability, reservation needed). Breakfast buffet also included in price and had a good selection of fruit, cold cuts, cheese, yogurt, etc.
No wifi in rooms, bathroom very small, only one outlet in room.

Not many private parking spaces but lots of parking possibilities all around
The hotel was very near to the train station and also the other attractions especially the gothic dom. Room and it's decorations were nice and sweet. Bathrooms are very clean although it's shared, which is very pleasant . Breakfast was extremely good, there was so many choices!! The best breakfast a hotel has offered while I'm traveling in Europe for one month plus! Definitely worth it!!
Bed is a little too soft for me maybe
I Have to say a very big thank you to all the great people who own the hotel, and to the great staff, a big IRISH THANK YOU. It was a few mins from the main station, very easy to find the beautiful attraction the city has to offer, and of course the Cathedral it is beautiful. MICHAEL
location, room condition, price, service, wifi, and breakfast! i got everything i needed at this price! was really good.
I had a single (one twin size bed) with a shower and small sink (shared toilet in the hallway). The room and hotel are impeccably clean. The location is perfect, next to the train station (3 blocks and 5 minute walk), old town (past the train station), and one block from the river walkway. There is a top-notch continental breakfast (rolls, jams, bread, cereals, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, yogurt, juice (not fresh), coffee, and tea). Do not expect a hot breakfast though, which was fine with me. You get a soft boiled egg too. The front desk and housekeeping staff are so friendly and welcoming, willing to answer tourist questions or hold a conversation. Front desk staff all have good English. I have no complaints for the value. It is a perfect hotel for an unbelievably reasonable price if you are a solo traveler looking for a bed to sleep on while visiting Koln for sightseeing. There is a hair dryer in the room, a closet, small desk/chair, and a small flat screen TV with many german channels, 1 french channel, 1 italian channel, and 2 english channels (CNN and BBC). Maybe more, but that is what I noticed. S13 tram takes you straight to Koln airport from train station in 15 minutes. Leaves at least twice hourly for 2.80 euros. Highly recommend. (Don't expect the Marriott though, which is one block away and 3-4x the price).
The door for the room uses a traditional key mechanism and requires turning the key to turn the latch. You cannot turn the knob. Therefore, when you pull the door shut, you have to pull it hard to engage the latch. This makes a loud bang, which can be heard at night if a neighbor comes/goes, e.g. toilet. Some thoughtful neighbors will use the key to rotate the latch before pulling the door shut. The beds are fine, but the mattresses are bit on the hard side. Some shampoo is provided (in packet), buy you may want to bring your own. There is no elevator, so you will need to carry your suitcase up some stairs (mine was up 3 flights of stairs). None of this was a big deal for me though, but you should know this before booking.
This hotel is just perfect for a single traveller on a budget using public transport! This place even beats more expensive hotels I've stayed at in Cologne.
The breakfast was excellent-nicely presented
This hotel was very centrally located, approximately 5 minutes walk to the Dom and main shopping area. It was about 2 minutes walk to the main train station. The street was very quiet and the room was clean.
Parking was not ideal as you could not park in front of the hotel. It was an 8 minute walk to the closest decent parking area, which cost 4 euro per day. The breakfast was mediocre, the bread was stale or too sugary.
Great location, very good breakfast, easy and convenient to access to most attractions in the city. Wifi works well.
