Location is perfect, overall the hotel is nice. I don't think the hotel itself is really worth the price (e.g. old furniture), you just pay for the location.

It was near the xmas markets, cathederal, train station. Seating area in our room was not very comfortable, kept hitting legs on beds, room smelt of cigarettes, and being a non smoker this was awful. Could see through bathroom window, therefore no privacy,

The hotel has a good location and it is easy to reach the place from the railway station. The staff is very nice and the hotel is clean. Their is a good isolation from the outside noise because of the PVC windows. The room to room isolation is not excelent but when you are tired doesn't matter.

It is located at the centre. It can be reach everywhere by walking. The staffs are very helpful. The room is very big. During the weekend the elevator is out of order, we have had difficulties to carry of our heavy luggage. The furnishing of the hotel and room are very old. It needs renovation. The old type tv is not working properly The Wi-fi is not working properly even at hotel lobby One evening, waiting at hotel lobby (the breakfast room can easily seeing from lobby) I realize a small mouse is freely running at the breakfast room. He looks very happy. But its not same feeling for me The old type floor carpet in room spread a bad smell

The only thing that saved the hotel was the friendliness of the guys at the reception. I went there to celebrate my birthday with my girlfriend and when I discovered the minibar in the room was broken, I gave a bottle of champagne to the guy at the reception and he put it in the hotel fridge. This was kind. The hotel is old. The room stinks. It was at the last floor (5th), but only the 4th was reachable with the elevator, then very small stairs went up to the 5th. The room was small, the furniture incredibly old, the bed unconfortable, the minibar broken. The bathroom was clean (I assume), but everything seemed old and very cheap also in the past. I reserved using my Swiss Mastercard, and then discovered, after signing the bill at the check-in, that they had special exchange rate and a 3.5 commission! I paid 40 chf more than due! They offered to reimburse me, but the exchange rate had already changed and I would have lost 12 chf! 129 euro for this room w/o breakfast is just practically a fraud. Never go there, please.

Location on Alter Markt is just 5 minutes walking from Central Station. Breakfast was ok (german standard) but a little overpriced (EUR 16). Got large room on 5th floor which is not suited for people with mobility problems because there is a small stair you must take (lift stops at 4) so keep this in mind this when making your reservation. Bath room with tub and shower. Room was cold and could not get it warm, central heating was lowered during night (this while external temp was going below -10C at night). Finally slept with double duvets (had a double room). Had ice on inside of window. Price was very overrated first night (EUR 164) because of "Fair prices" which tend to boost when there is a fair show in Cologne, and adequate for the other nights (EUR 65 and EUR 74). Bathroom shows signs of wear, no hooks for towels or bathing wrap. Payed Internet @ EUR 3/Hr, but luckily the more you buy the lower it gets.

Excellent location. Just a stones throw from the Rhine and the railway station. A nice quiet hotel. The room was nice as was the bathroom. Reasonably priced too, especially since there was a conference on in the city at the same time and they could've charged more. Bed was a bit squashy and very low to the floor. Only one pillow too, no spare.

The location is great, very close to Central train station and the Dom and right above Alter Markt Christmas market. Very good value for money. The room was large, clean and comfortable, all we needed for a 1 night stay. The bathroom was clean but although it was large it was a bit uncomfortable since the bath tub was very close to the toilet making difficult to pass in front of it...no real problem though just a minor detail.

The room we were allocated also had a sitting room which was unexpected and a good place to relax. Perhaps tea/coffee making facilities in the room would be helpful? Bathroom could do with some updating. It was clean, but rather 80's decor. Sink was cracked.

Staff were excellent and rooms very clean and fresh. We were disappointed to find no tea/coffee facilities in the room or any kind of snacks available in the afternoon/evening. The only food available was breakfast. I hadn't realised this on booking - perhaps it was listed as such on Booking.com and I just didn't read it! The location of the hotel was such though that we ate close by but tea and coffee in the room would have been much more favourable to us than the minibar. The pillows were awful! Looked great, large and fluffy but when leaning back on them or lying our heads on them they shrank to nothing and were uncomfortable. Spare ones to use in the room would have helped. The duvets though were extremely warm and comfortable..

The bedding was very comfortable. The location was extremely good! It was only a 5 min walk to the Hbf and the same distance to the Rhein. The reception people were nice and spoke English very well. The bed was divided into two halves, not a whole queen or king size bed. No free Wifi, however, the price itself was low, so this would be no problem.

Good location. Easy to reach on foot from the hb. Very close to Dom, Christmas markets and shops. In general the hotel needs to be renovated. Pictures does not correspond to the facts. Rooms and furniture are very old. Beds were uncomfortable. Double bed was made from two singles. Very basic breakfast. Exept location Nothing special.

Perfect location, close to christmas markets, railway station and shopping area. Friendly hepful staff, reasonably good comfort and fresh and satisfying breakfast - not many hotels were offering breakfast as part of the package Uncomfotable pillows and not as many channels working on tv when we were relaxing before going to sleep - an english speaking news channel would have been welcome

The hotel is in the ideal location if you are visiting the city to see the christmas markets, most points of interest can be reach on foot. The breakfast was very basic but there was plenty. There are no coffee or tea making facilities in the rooms. The hotel does not have a bar where you can sit and relax after a day out, however there are numerous bars nearby.

Proximity to centre. Breakfast was a good selection. Reasonable cost. Beds in some rooms arranged a bit strange (eg one of our rooms had two beds lengthways rather than side by side)

We both loved the location and the spectacular views of the Dom from one side and the City Hall. It was also an ideal location for the Christmas markets, shopping, the sights and food. Right in the middle of the Alter Markt. It was nothing like in the pictures, The reception was just like the pictures but the room was far from it. One thing that we could have had a problem with was our room, room 601, it was an attic room, which was very clean but far from modern like in the pictures. It was massive. The lift went to the fourth floor, then we had to go up a stone staircase to our room door, then up a very steep staircase into the attic. It was quirky and eventually we loved it, and the views from up here were amazing. But the stairs are very steep, and you are having to walk sideways as you were literally in the roof. As it was at the top and heat rises, it was very hot, couldn't open the windows through the night as it was so noisy. Ideal if you are there for the pubs. Views were great mind, and we did come to love it. But as mentioned, it was all a lot older than the pictures made out.
