Score from 1050 reviews Good
Cheerful eccentric very comfortable and extremely good value for money
Slidy door handles on loo/shower were uncomfortable to use - they hurt my fingers.
the architecture style the wi-fi connection good breakfast
I have to wait till 14.00 for check in The air condition had problems
Staff were helpful and friendly. Convenient for conference centre
The location was at the edge of the red light district. I live in London and am used to rough and ready areas, but I wouldn't have wanted to be walking alone in the area as a lone female traveller.
good breakfast modern and clean great location for the station
the room I had on the top floor had a sloping roof so it was awkward to get around the room.
Distance from train and pedestrian center Clean, modern decor Down comforters Friendly and helpful staff
See through showers (no privacy to room) Strip joint in immediate area
The decor and design was unique and comfortable. The location was excellent. Excellent coffee in the morning.
The hotel is very clean with very good spacious rooms.
Close to station. Important consideration for us.
Girly bars. Not the best part of munich but we felt safe.
The Decor of the hotel is nice. Things seem new and clean. Central location - 5 mins from the main sites and from the Train Station for travellers. Breakfast was good the one day we had it. New Shower - Powerful and large.
Not enough pillows - The one pillow was tiny and very soft. The shower room had no walls just glass so you can see into the shower from the room. Not much Privacy for shower or bathroom!
+location(some think it is not the best area as the streets behind full of casinos and clubs however very convenient location) +size of rooms +cleanliness of rooms and environment +design of rooms(at least they tried) +rich breakfast +rain shower
-staff at reception, never smiles, never looks at your face, never speaks clearly however some kind of helpful. I hope they would be keen to smile more later. -no minibar in the room
The Hotel is one of the best in have booked in that price category
A bit noice through the night from outside
Hotel very close to the main station, 5 minutes of walk. many restaurant around hotel.
room is lil bit dark.
The hotel has an upbeat, creative décor. It was very clean and trendy.
I did not like the location nor the see through shower.
Staff happy to store our luggage when we arrived early in the morning. Lovely high quality room, bath (in the bedroom) and shower. Decor - picture walls in bedroom and reception area - including silver birch tree trunks!
Journey meant we couldn't stay longer!
From the time we walked into the hotel after a long train journey, we felt welcome in Cocoon Stachus. I would give credit to Florian who was most pleasant. Thereafter, he was patient with our queries and gave us important information. The other staff were pleasant too, though we didn't interact much with them. The location was good as we could walk from and to the railway station and the tour buses stop. We could also walk to Marienplatz. The hotel room is very functional though not luxurious. But it suited us and fulfilled our needs.
great location, easy checkin, excellent breakfast, fairly clean, good wifi
the room was tiny. barely enough room to get the luggage in. The "bunk beds" weren't really beds but a convertible couch. The top bunk was very unstable and both bunks were really small. My daughter ended up sleeping on the floor. While the design of the shower/toilet is kind of cool, it's very open. The toilet stall can't be fully closed, there is always a 15cm gap. The glass shower enclosing is opaque, but you can definitely see through. There's also no room to towel off but outside of the shower. Unless you are comfortable with nudity with everybody you are sharing the room with, be aware. Fortunately for us it was just a few giggles.
Cocoon Stachus is excellently located - just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Munich. The interior of the hotel was ultra-modern and cool and the hotel was very clean throughout.
The showers in the bedrooms are made completely from glass and are standalone in the bedrooms which doesn't allow for any privacy or preservation of modesty.
Every thing was good
It was a comfortable and clean place. The staff were correct in treatment. The free wi-fi signal was good in the room.
There was no small safe in the room, and when, on the last day, you leave your luggage to get it back later, you lock it yourself in the store room, and there is no security control over it, or of what's inside the store room.
Comfortable room and clean. Very convenient location to the train station and also easy walk to Marienplatz and other sites. Staff was nice and answered questions and offered advice. Others reviews had issues with AC and wifi but we did not. The shower is really nice - but make sure you're ok with whoever you're traveling with seeing you in there, because it is a window open to the room. Room is on smaller side but not bad for 2 people. Can buy beers in the lobby for fairly cheap, and the Indian restaurant across the street is also good. Nice that Cocoon offers free luggage storage when you check-out.
The area definitely takes getting used to. We arrived at night, and in the dark I was immediately sketched out and worried about the location. However, in the daylight it's really not bad. Because of it's location near the main train station there are some less than desirable nearby establishments (casino, strip clubs, etc.) but we never had any issues or felt unsafe once we realized that we were also surrounded by many other hotels, and Cocoon seemed the nicest. We were unfortunately on the street side and it was fairly loud from outside noises.
Super groovy look. Comfy bed.
A little loud, maybe I'm a little old.
Quirky decor Friendly & v helpful staff Breakfast Excellent room with lots of space for 3 people Information about Munich readily available. Walkable to main sights. Proximity to station. Luggage room. Outside bar area.
Only negative was the third bed being a z-bed which was a little uncomfortable. Some people may find the area a little rough, although we didn't find it a problem at all.
Quite funky, clean and friendly.
Staff was all right but not amazing
Clean, confortable and very close to the train central station. Easy access to the sub.
Clean, good breakfast. Close to the station and the center. The area is not pleasant, but tolerable.
Suitable only for only for intimate couples. There are only one sliding door for toilet and shower - so you cannoy close both of them. Our twin room has a shower with a glass wall overlooking the room. The sink is right in the room.
