This is the place to stay-worth every euro spent!! Exquisite property, outstanding chef, beautiful apartment suite, perfect location, lovely staff-excellent in every category. We loved it so much that we are returning to the same property in December.
One minor caution: Be ready to call ahead for a taxi-there is a taxi stand and a taxi parked in front of the hotel, but there is never a driver available. The front desk will happily call for a taxi, but you will have to wait.
Elegant traditional decor Old school high attention to detail and great customer service Location great near train station and old town Overall wonderful stay
indoor pool too cold and round shape didn't help swimmers Price high
The staff was perfect specialy moneer and jolia and sebastian , the location was perfect and the rooms was nice .
5-star customer service throughout our stay. Everyone we came in contact with was great.
Got lost trying to find the hotel due to lots of construction and road closures. So, GPS was not helpful. Wifi had issues. Business office was not useful because all the computer programs were in German.
Hotel was almost full, yet it was quiet and nice. We enjoyed the pool.
Staff took a very long time at check out.
1- Some of the staff were collaborators
1- No Wi-Fi in the (Junior Suite room! 2- When we got to the hotel receptionist was unsatisfactory for us 3- No what fits in the bar (Junior Suite room) habit Other hotels such as: heater tea - water - tea
The view and near by shpps and center
No wifi in rooms
Excellent location in the Altstadt. Family-owned and run to the highest standards. Excellent Michelin-starred restaurant. Beautiful Wellness facilities.
Some of the staff and location
Poor Facilities Below average food Poor service Below average hotel overall Don't deserve a 5 stars.
Location, this is the only positive thing in this hotel!
-Old, broken furniture -Parking garage is complicated -Cleaning is not efficient -No coffee machine(for 5 stars hotel!!) -No Ipod, Iphone player( a must in 5 star hotel) - very small TV - very slow room service
I loved the housekeeping, the turn down service with truffles from the adjoining chocolate shop. The elegant breakfast room. The infinity edge pool, the sauna, the outstanding service from the concierge. It rained every day, and we were handed 2 dry umbrellas before every walk. The piano bar is not to be missed. We felt important and pampered throughout our stay.
Location is excellent. Bathroom is good, and the room is okay.
Expensive for what you get. Room service food is bad. Coffee shop cakes are bad. Breakfast was not comfortable at all (staff were in a hurry to close the buffett and they had to annoy me till I left). Overall there is a staff issue in the hotel, it takes some time for them to pick up the phone .. at the front desk it was always crowded and only one person at the reception so you'll have to wait in line. No proper concirge service.
I loved the hotel. Simply the best hotel in Freiburg.
Everything was perfect
Staff were very freindly and welcoming.
The bed cover and pillow were uncomfortable
Staff were excellent
I booked this hotel, even though a more expensive option, because the pictures I found online looked like the rooms were modernized. However, my room was not and in particular, the bathroom looked like it had not been renovated for some time. I was quite disappointed and wished I had booked at a cheaper option such as the Novotel given the quality of the room I was given. Despite an excellent staff, the price was not worth it and I will not stay here again.
No elevator; ice cubes hard to come by.
Good location , very friendly staff, nice specious room, beautiful swimming pool...
Poor wireless internet connection in the room
It is the best hotel in Freiburg.
No wi-fi in the rooms.
The free upgrade!
Main thing: smoking allowed in the bar - YUK! Clothes smelt terrible at end of evening, like in old times :-( PLEASE stop it completely. Small things like light indicators on switches not working and the. In general very nice - but not quite the luxury level that I had expected and it is quite a modern building - not so classical as it might seem from the website.
Professional staff, cleanness, evrything well-functioning.
No specific complaints. A little short on charm. Restaurant is not bad, but a little overrated.
- No coffee maker in rooms! - No tourist attraction brochures in English!
waiters are not experienced. tlk too much. no recommendations in the restaurant. no idea about the wine offer. One plate with a big dark hair. language limitations.
No wifi in the room
Very clean rooms with enough amenities/toiletries provided. Good location if walking within the city to see the main tourist sites.
Since we were driving, the hotel was a bit difficult to find due to the many one-way streets (and closed streets due to construction) within the city. The check-in gentleman was unfriendly and asked us to pay for an additional room for my kids (we have already booked 2 rooms upfront). For a 5-star hotel, I would have expected coffee and tea-making facilities but these were not available in any of the 3 rooms we booked. Wifi connection in the rooms were also unstable so we had to use the wifi connection in the lobby.
