Hotel Condor  

The hotel was well located, on a side street near the hauptbahnhof in the city centre. The room was a very good price - we had some friends staying in a nearby hostel who were paying nearly the same price and had to share a bathroom, etc. The room was very clean. The bathroom fittings seemed quite new. The beds were comfortable. Overall, we found this to be a well located hotel at a very reasonable price. But do take into account that the room itself is small and the budget rooms do not have air conditioning.

There were quite a few casinos and strip clubs in the area (this was clear at night, but they were less noticeable during the day). This wasn't a problem for us, and the area seemed safe, but perhaps families would not want to stay in the neighbourhood. We stayed in the hotel in mid-August, which was very hot in Munich. The room does not have air conditioning, but we could cool down somewhat by opening the windows. We were in a budget double room, so perhaps the slightly more expensive rooms have air conditioning? At the desk they have just installed one of those Eftpos terminals which tries to automatically charge you in your home currency (I.E. Australian dollars for us, rather than Euros). Be aware that the exchange rate provided by these terminals is not generally as good as the one your bank will offer. The person on reception at the time did not seem to understand how the machine worked, and so did not give us the option of paying in Euros. This probably only cost us a few Euros, but it's something to watch out for.

Great location for the train station and 10mins from the beer hall. Nice room and very comfy bed. Breakfast had high quality food and good amount of choice. Very good value for money.

I made the reservation for about 8 persons. They took the money from my mastercard before we came to the Hotel. This means that my credit limit was reached because we intended to stay several nights. Every person will of course pay with their own credit card. This caused me a lot of troble because the money will be gone for a week... Jan

Room was extremely small - hard to get comfortable.

Location close to the railway station is excellent. Peaceful street, no noise problem. Breakfast was good.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel is within easy walking distance to good shops, a variety of restraunts and the Central Train Station. With a combination of price, location, access to amenities and facilities it is difficult to find any fault.

Hotel bar was not open during the two days I was there...

I like it for its location, very near train station.

But not happy they don't provide an internet service for customer who didn't have computer with them. Besides, the people don't speak English really bother me.

This place has a terrible, racist manager, Marian. She was, by far, the rudest and most discriminatory manager at a hotel I have ever come across. If you are not white, I do not recommend staying at this hotel. From the moment I checked in, she was rude, dismissive, and discriminatory. When I finally questioned her about her behavior, she said I was "not welcome there again". This was simply because I questioned her on her rude behavior. It was in the middle of Oktoberfest and it should have been a light, happy air surrounding the place. I did not let it ruin my impression of Munich, but I think there are better places to stay for the money, and you can't get much ruder.
