Very quirky and old fashioned but very friendly staff and situated right next to the train station. Very slow to answer the bell as it cannot be heard from the bar/kitchen area so if nobody responds have a look around and find somebody.

Pleaseant staff. Hearty breakfast. A potentially good hotel let down badly by the extreme dirtiness of the rooms. Future guests should remeber to take their slippers as they won't want to risk walking on the carpets bare-foot.

The whole lobby smells of cigarrette smoke, and it emanates all the way up to the rooms.

Central location. Friendly and helpful staff The 2 single rooms that my friends stayed in were in poor condition. The carpets were dirty and rucked up. As this was just an overnight stay, it wasn't worth complaining.

The staff were very helpful and polite Cheap and cheerful. Good location for trains and buses. A good base. Good bar restaurant just next door, again, very helpful staff The Hotel seemed very dark. The room allocated to us had seen better days. There were nicer rooms. It felt as if better rooms were made available for germans. I was travelling with my son and asked for 2 single beds. We were allocated a standard german room, two singles, but joined

Location - just opposite the train station. The hotel is really dated. It's in a slow process of partially renovating its rooms. The room we stayed in had newly laid tiled floor but other rooms we saw had dirty carpeted floor. There was no blind or curtain in the window next to the bathroom which would not be a problem if they hadn't removed the internal door! I bet no want would want the upholstered chairs if they were left in the street - they looked disgusting.

Staff helpful though a bit busy due to Garden Festival (I didn't know about). Buffet Breakfast good for a "continental" type. Fridge in room to keep drinks col. V. convenient for train/bus (outside door!). Bar and takeaway nearby. Beds ok and more comfortable than they looked. Open to check in til 11 pm. Could do with a bit of work on it. Hotel corridors a bit dingey. (Rooms not much better). Shower head missing. No air con but room not too bad (it was a hot day). Lamps in room 1 worked 1 didn'T.

very helpul staff who spoke in English. Pleasant room with small table and two chairs plus a small fridge.. It was immaculate as was the white bedding. Small en suite but adequate for our needs. We had room no 28 and one mattress in particular needs replacing as there was far too much ´give´ in it.

Breakfast Two of the lights in the room didn't work. Only one socket was in function. The shower had to be held in hand the whole time because the shower bar was missing. The fact that only cash payment was accepted was told only when checking out.

It was placed in a convenient location next to the railway station and only a short walk into the city centre The hotel was poorly maintained, and dirty. The bathroom sink didn't drain. The towels were stained. It looked so dirty that I couldn't contemplate eating breakfast there.

Pleasant attitude of the staff. Cheap-ish, even if it ended up being very bad value for money in our eyes. This is a Hotel that has had no investment in it for decades. We asked o a quiet room, and got it. But - so run-down, we regrettted we'd booked it. I'm 1.85m tall; the bed was too small for me. The toilet didn't flush - you had to reach for and pull a bent piece of bent wire inside the cistern cabinet behind to do so. Then it ran all night, anyway - as did the dripping tap. No shower curtain; black mould around the bath; carpets falling to pieces. Sheets and towels clean, but still marked. Breakfast at 9am? No fruit juice, no tomatos. The credit card machine was broken - please could we pay cash?... . a great place to stay - if you want a 1960's experience.
