    Very well situated at bus stop line number 6 to central station, city hall, Spiecherstadt and St-Pauli. Also night bus 607. Calm neighbourhood, no noice from outside. Good bed, extended choice of pillows. Big modern bathroom. Swimming pool and wellness area.

    Overpriced breakfast, but cheap and nice in many cafes in St-Georg 3 min walking. No free wifi (too expensive). Room service failed on day 3: no towels and no soap in bathroom but solved by very active reception staff. Carpet in room should be replaced.

    A note in the foyer suggested to go for a run around the "Alster", including a fresh towel, a carton of water and nice apples! Took up the challenge and didn't regret it!!

    I did not appreciate being billed for the full amount, one week prior to my arrival. The full amount was debited against my account immediately upon making the booking. This despite a statement to the contrary contained in the booking confirmation. Not a refundable deposit, rather, the full payment, in advance! On arrival at the Hotel, I was informed I would need to authorise a further charge against my account, as a deposit, in advance of any charges that might occur during my stay. When I refused, instead opting to pay cash, I was told that, as a consequence, all facilities, such as Internet, Satellite etc., would be frozen. They even locked the minibar fridge door; how pathetic! The additional pet surcharges, again paid for in upfront, are no more than a bonus windfall for the Hotel, without them actually providing any extra service, at all, for the said payment! The reception staff on duty at the time of my arrival, were, impolite and extremely unhelpful; presumably in line with the hotels apparent dislike of cash paying customers. I have never experienced such customer distrust previously from a hotel. Would I recommend the hotel to someone else? The answer is NO. Would I stay there again? The answer is NO.

    We stayed for 2 nights but our experience was good. We expect a normal, clean room/bathroom from hotels and thats what we received. All of the staff were extremely kind and helpful for tourit info required. We did not face any problems at all. Breakfast had a nice variety.

    Air conditioning did not function well. Asked for small fan which was totally adequate.

    Nice value for money, lovely location and very helpful staff.

    The temperature on the whole building was quite low (for us). Even with the A/C off it was a bit nippy in the room. Something else: I still don't understand the prices for internet on top quality hotels - but so it is.

    A bit crowded at breakfast at "peak" hour.

    Friendly, helpful staff, very quiet, very clean, comfortable bed.

    We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, since we consider 22 Euros per person to be ridiculously expensive for breakfast! But there are several options just down the street.

    I loved the tea corner in the lobby. The location was ok, close to St. Georg, lots of cafes and restaurants in the vicinity yet calm and green around the hotel

    You need to call staff to open windows, you need to call staff for a chain lock on the door. The apples were rotting in the lobby. The shampoos and coffee in the room weren't refreshed the next morning. They seemed a bit stingy for a hotel of that caliber

    Location was great and the breakfast had a vast amount of choice.

    The staff weren't very friendly or fast at service. I had booked a comfort room for me and a friend - larger then their standard. When booking I had requested twin beds as there was no option for this at time of booking. On arrival I was informed there would be a €15 charge per night for twin beds as they needed to house us in another room. (This fee was waived upon check out when challenged) there is no notification for this when booking. Had I known I wouldn't have chosen that hotel. Wifi is also chargeable at €4 an hour however after arguing with staff they eventually confided that if we sign up for their newsletter we are entitled to free wifi and late check out at 2pm. On the day we checked out the keys to our room stopped working early. This was very inconvenient as we were in hamburg for a yoga workshop and we were sweaty and hungry apon our return. We had to go back to reception where there was a long queue and wait for a staff member to deal with us. There first reply was well aren't you suppose to be checking out now - no we had requested a late check out. This waiting around cost us 15 wasted minutes and we were on a tight schedule to eat and then catch our flight home. The hotel supplied yoga mats (very positive) but no where before I arrived did I see this service advertised. I had therefore brought my own from the uk which was inconvenient due to needing larger luggage, a shame this service isn't more widely advertised as it's very unique.

    Location near Alster Lake & in a quiet residential area.

    We were told that if we pay extra, we can get an upgraded room. But what we got was a queen size bed that was actually American double size 160X200cm?! We didn't get twin beds as requested. The price for breakfast was expensive €$22/person & we had to pay the full price for a child?!! The TV in room 616 was not working.

    Lovely soft bedding and really comfy beds. Free tea bar with lots of different teas to try.

    Bar not open till 3pm and swimming pool area could have been cleaner.
