Dedlerhaus    

The Haertle Family was extremely friendly & helpful in answering any questions or requests we might have had. Everything was super clean and the breakfast was a large delicious buffet which satisfied everyone's individual tastes. Once your car is parked, you no longer need it to see Oberammergau which was great! We will definitely come back!

I loved the location for access to walking/hiking travels, scenic adventures, shopping to local crafts (buy wooden carvings and gifts right here!), restaurants, and local historic sites. We really enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable, lovely gasthaus.

The situation of course in the center of the village.

The cold welcome of the owners and price deviation from the original booking offer. They were looking at us very unpleasent and were thinking we will leave without paying.

not much facilities

The couple who ran the pension were very polite and nice. We showed up in the evening and they helped us look for a parking space. Parking is always a problem but fortunately it wasn't here. The room was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was a traditional German breakfast that came with your own pot of coffee or tea. We'll be return to this place!

It would be hard to find a better location. The breakfast was outstanding. I especially liked the sunflower-seed bread. Dedlerhaus provides free tickets on the bus to the Zugspitze train station in Garmish, and the bus stop was a short walk from the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the hotel was very close to an excellent restaurant. Our English-speaking hosts, Ewald and Brigitta, were very friendly and they went out of their way to be helpful. Ewald always had a place for us to park. Our traveling companions got a very good price on a wood carving in the Dedlerhaus store. We really liked the sound of the bells in the nearby church. It's part of what makes a visit to Bavaria so special. I didn't find them disturbing in the least. Visitors should see the beautiful rococo interior of the church. We will definitely stay at the Dedlerhaus again.

Very friendly staff and great service

It is within walking distance to town, even the cable car. There are lovely walks around town. This is a beautiful old house. The owners are a lovely couple and very helpful.

Tiny bathroom,

Dedlerhaus was nice in so many ways. The room was super fresh and well- appointed. Dedlerhaus has character. The owners were nice and the location was close to all the things to see and do in Oberammergau. And the wood-carving shop on the ground floor and the tiled stove in the breakfast area made it special.

Parking space is limited (but that's normal for a town like Ogau).

My husband, myself, and two friend stayed for one night at Dedlerhaus. Our room came with quite the view and access to a shared balcony with the Alps as a backdrop. The hotel and room appeared to be well cared for by the owner and his wife and was nicely situated centrally to surrounding attractions and shopping. While we didn't eat breakfast there, it was included.

The biggest issues with Dedlerhaus was it's location as well. Situated across from a church, the bells for this institution go off every 15 minutes. This isn't an problem during the day, but was interrupted our sleep at night as our windows were open. The layout of the bathroom was odd, as the sink was almost right on top of the toilet, which made maneuvering difficult and the shower was extremely tight.

Very homely, and typical, Bavarian guest house. The breakfast was excellent and the fresh fruit was probably the freshest tasted. The hosts/owners are very friendly. Located in centre on town so good for all amenities and close to sports comples and climbable mountains.

I cannot think of anything positive to say about our stay here at all

Having read how friendly the owners were we were very disappointed to find exactly the opposite as it was evident that the owners did not enjoy being there, no charm, no smiles, almost hostile. The building itself was festooned with tatty souvenirs which seemed very overpriced. The room, whilst clean was airless and crampt and no sleep was possible as the church bells chimed every quarter hour. All in all a thoroughly unpleasant stay and I would not go back there.

My wife and I have been travelling through Europe for the last six weeks and pension Delerhaus has been the best place we have stayed staff very friendly and helpful even to carry your luggage to your room breakfast great cleaninnes fantastic and the magic restaurant recommended by them first class at an affordable price overall great value for money would happely stay there again and recommended

Re-visitng the Oberammergau area after many years, nice to find some German traditional places Not Changed.. But well maintained ,exterior kept up, old style decor..super accommodating gentleman/staff, free parking, close to shops and restaurants, tourist attractions.Room had every necessity.

The room we stayed in was the nicest and roominess of our entire trip. Excellent room with a very nice seating area. Also, there was a very nice terrace with a great view of the mountains. They presented a good breakfast and the Dedlerhaus was and excellent value for the price, which was very reasonable.

This hotel is above a shop selling momentoes,souvenirs etc. for which residents get 10% discount. It is very comfortable, but no restaurant, so you have to find somewhere to eat. The couple who run the hotel and shop are very pleasant and helpful.

Our room had direct access to a large upstairs balcony which was shared by all residents. Problem was that they were allowed to smoke on the balcony so we couldn't open the door without getting a room full of cigarette smoke.
