눇There is a lot of interesting history to this hotel, lots of famous people have stayed here as I'm sure back in the day it was a very grand hotel and it's still very good today as well. This was another stop off on the drive back from the Amalfi Coast to the UK, so only for one night. We didn't get to the hotel until about 8.45 pm, we asked for recommendations for a good place to eat as the hotel restaurant was very pricey. The receptionist recommended an Italian Restaurant about 2 minutes walk from the hotel as the German restaurants were too far to walk to at that time and it was getting late. I have to say after being in Italy for 11 days it was actually one of the best meals that we had! Last orders were at 9.30 p.m. so be aware if you decide to go, its called Rossi Al Fiume. We had some lovely lamb cooked perfectly, they had my favourite grape variety wine, Primitivo and the best tiramisu I've ever had, it all came at a surprising reasonable cost. Unfortunately it was too dark to see the view on the Rhine. Breakfast the next morning was probably the best we have had on this trip. Lots of variety, smoked salmon, cooked breakfast pieces, the usual, it was a huge spread. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us, the heavens had opened when we arrived and it was rainy and miserable when we left, so we didn't get to enjoy the Rhine which we had a fairly good view of from our room.
