The guestrooms are okay in size and decor and the beds are quite comfortable. There are roll-down metal shades so that the room can be made totally dark at night as well as serving as a sort of double glazing to lessen the effect of nearby road noise. Also, the curtains happily do not cover the heating equipment, whereas floor length drapes would seriously lessen its wintertime usefulness. there are at least 8 ground floor rooms available, something not noted on the website nor on the hotel’s own website. The restaurant serves very good regional style food at good prices and the breakfast buffet is above average even by the high breakfast standards of Germany.

There is an elevator for access to rooms on upper floors, but it is at the far end of the building from the parking area and to reach it you must take your luggage through the full length of the restaurant and breakfast areas, making it a bit of a walk. The room was clean with one glaring exception. The faucet aerator was spraying water in several directions and when I removed it to do without it, I discovered that the strainers inside it were full of crud, pipe residue presumably. I was unable to remove the strainers to clean them and so I left it on the sink counter together with a graphic note to replace it. But such replacement should have taken place long ago and so maintenance checking and repair is not adequate. Also, be careful in the parking area because it is easy to trip and fall on the paving stones that are not closely positioned. I speak from experience and avoided injury only because my hand was still on the car door handle, so that I could make my fall into a slow motion one.

The area was nice. Breakfast was fine as well.

They left us waiting a little bit to give us the room. They don't communicate well in english.
