Phoenix City HotelKirchenallee 56, 20099 Hamburg (Show map) Review score 6.8 Score from 127 reviews“Opposite main train station. Bars and restaurants next door.”
Scott,
Manchester
Situated across from Hamburg's main train station, within walking distance of the center of the city's sights, this friendly, 3-star hotel offers cozy rooms and a complimentary breakfast buffet each morning. The rooms at the Phoenix City Hotel feature standard amenities. Wi-Fi internet access can be accessed in the rooms and throughout the rest of the hotel. Start your day by visiting the Phoenix's quaint breakfast room for the breakfast buffet. Ideally located for exploring Hamburg, the Phoenix is around the corner from the Mönckebergstraße shopping boulevard, which leads to the Rathaus (town hall) and lovely Alster lake. The proximity to the main train station means all trains lines and many bus routes can be taken from here. The central bus station is also just 110 yards away, making the hotel ideal for guests who are just passing through Hamburg. Hotel Rooms: 26

The Phoenix City Hotel was ideal for my own personal needs because of it's location which is opposite the main railway station and a good starting point for exploring the city on the u Bahn (underground/subway).I Cannot make too many comments on this hotel because I only stayed one night there and spent most of my time looking around the city but found it inexpensive compared to many hotels with a central location. Some people are very fussy when it comes the luxuries, if this is you then I would look elsewhere but if you are only after a clean basic room then this would be fine for you.

Across the road from the main railway station. Bars and restaurants next door and also plenty of shops and snack bars in the station. Shopping and city attractions are just a 5 minute walk away through the other side of the station. U Bahn and s Bahn trains will take you to all other districts. Alster lake just a short walk away.

it's location to the main train station.. it was literally right across the street, which is good if you have lots of stuff you are carrying. and it is next to shopping and eatery areas that some are open until after midnight the rooms do not look like what is in the pictures, the eggs for breakfast were half hard boiled. carpets were dirty, left a towel on the floor and the towel turned red. there was no towels in the room, staff did not believe me when i informed them of it. the knob on the shower the controls the flow of cold water was broken. Definitely overpriced for the low level/quality of service. it is very sad.

Location good very close to main railway station. Adequate breakfast available from just before 7am which was useful as we had an early train to catch and over four hour journey ahead. Room acceptable for a brief stay and good inexpensive restaurant just few yards away. Excellent value for money if you need to stay centrally for a night or two. Would have like tea/coffee tray in room, more pleasant room lighting and a clock radio that worked. Not big problems for a one night stay and still good value for money but would pay more for better experience if staying in Hamburg for longer visit.

Location, directly oppostite the main railway station which is ideal for transport in/out and around Hamburg. Just a very basic b&b with nothing in the way of facilities, not even tea making facilities in the room, or even soap for the bathroom! Most randomly, was the breakfast served on the landing between floors, a first for me!

Location was good and convenient for me but other than that everything about the hotel sucked. Especially the price. The hotel is too pricey for the service it provides. Rooms look average, and the bathroom is cramped. Some rooms dont have a toilet either.

Staff were very friendly, lovely breakfast every morning. Building work next door right outside my window, but I wouldn't say it spoiled my stay and it is not the fault of the hotel.

Convenience for everything. Close to shops and S Bahn and trains. Felt we were in the middle of evrything. Wife was not keen that there were prostitutes and sex shops just round the corner. Although I quite enjoyed looking around these shops and saw some very interesting things. Alao I had hoped to see more people in traditional German costumes, but was disappointed.

It is a such a strange hotel. I feel insecure and uncomfortable during my stay, rooms are so old, hotel looks like a movie screen up in 80s. Room, facilities, breakfast, cleaning of the room, smell, door lock, noises coming from the next door...
