All was good and excellent breakfast buffet.
Great breakfast Great location Large rooms Cheaper than some other places in the area
It's 2014 and you have to pay extra for wifi (per 24 hours)! No aircon, gets really hot You get one pillow, and it's a weird flat square thing (quite common there apparently) Very thin uncomfortable mattress Quite expensive like most places in the area
view from room was lovely but as there was no A/C or even a fan in the room we had to sleep with windows open and the noise from the waterwheel throughout the night ruined my sleep as did the noise from the people at the motorcycle club
Loved the view. Location near city centre of Esslingen is great. It is a lovely town that sits nicely on a river. Hotel provides 10% discount in a number of very decent local restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and every part of it is from local farmers and producers.
With view came a river streaming loudly underneath your window. That meant sleeping with the windows closed. Room had no aircon so it was rather hot. Had to pay extra for wifi access which is limited to only one device. You will need to buy additional wifi codes
Breakfast was great. Rooms clean and neat. Neat to see turbine thru the floor. Sound of water on spillway was great for sleeping.
Very friendly staff who told us all about the hotel and sights and things to do in the area. Environmentally friendly which is always good.
We liked everything.
Very good hotel in Esslingen, and it's ECO.
Nothing special. Clean rooms, but the bed was not very comfortable. Easy to reach.
Excellent central location. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Ecological ethos (but see - ves)
Lack of a/c or some way to cool the room apart from opening the window. I was there for Germany's 7-1 win over Germany so the streets were quite rowdy, but I note others had the same comment.
My room was very dirty, with a lot of flies (it is next to the river) and dead bugs. It is necessary to pay for the WIFI!!!!! The first time I see it in my live, the first hotel. 4 euro/24h. The breakfast without still water!!! Only sparkling water! If you ask for still water they tell you you have to buy it. The prize: very high for the quality of the hotel. They close the reception at 22h!!! We didn't like at all this place....
Great location and great staff, very clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
The only downside is that our first night we were on the street level and since there is no AC had the windows open and we heard every person that walked by including those who sat down on the bench and had a hour long conversation at three in the morning. Asked the staff for a room on the river side the next night which they did a great job of. That night there was a huge party across the river that lasted until four in the morning. Third night was finally perfect. No fault of the hotel but this was a downside for us. The only other thing I would say is while very clean and comfortable the rooms reminded us of living in a college dorm.
Very good breakfast, good location, near main station and old town.
The location was perfect, with easy access to street parking on the weekend. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our later than planned arrival.
One of the pillow cases in our room looked to be used, which was a bit off-putting. The floors also had a few stray hairs from the last visitors. Overall, the room was clean, but not cleaned to perfection.
Very helpful staff, very good location, rooms are good, you have the feeling of ECO place
If you are looking for luxury that's not your place, but I guess that's not the place's idea.
Good and helpful staff, fine location, clean and fairly OK breakfast. Quite welcoming atmosphere.
The beds in the single rooms were so tiny and inspite of claims by booking websites, the hotel insists that you pay for wifi.
Wifi was advertised however we were not able to access it. As we were travelling with business this was a let down
Beautiful views from the room. Very clean. Very friendly Staff
Excelent location, we could reach the old town in a short and nice walk. Our room was right over the river! We went there only to sleep after Ludwigsburg Castle and it was a very nice surprise. Vary spacious and comfortable room and bathroom. Good breakfast.
It was a little difficult to get to the hotel by car. THe parking was some minutes walk, which would have been a problem with a lot of luggage. It is also beside a night club. We had no problem with noise at all, but we were there on a Tuesday. It may be a problem on weekends. So none of these matter to us.
Internet is too slow needs to be improved.
the staff are very nice
i must pay for the expensive Wifi
Good location fairly new good breakfast offer
Expensive wifi not included
Good location in the centre. Rooms are large though they're mostly empty space with little furniture.
More like a stark student hostel than a hotel. Rooms have hardly any furniture and just linoleum flooring. There were no pictures or decoration except one student photo on the wall. Towels were thin and frayed. Breakfast is very basic sitting on backless benches and you’re expected to clear your own dishes. Wouldn’t be so bad if they didn’t charge hotel rates but it’s not cheap and they charge 4 euro for very slow internet connection.
- The hotel is situated near the city center - nice room and a big bathroom
- no free internet connection - the paid internet connection worked very bad - noises from the hotel’s wooden stairs in my room (very uncomfortable in the evening)
The staff is very friendly and accomodating. It is charming in a weird way but I have spent several days here and have good experiences all around.
The wifi quality is a bit dicey. You also have to pay for each device that you want to use internet on, so that is a little annoying. There is a nightclub across the street that can be a bit loud on the weekends but is otherwise not a problem.
