I went to this hotel when it made part of the "relais et chateaux" and wondered if the fact they are not member of it anymore, would mean that the hotel would have suffered a kind of downgrade. Well I was delighted to see that this hotel still is the fantastic place it used to be; everything was perfect and I don't think anyone could find a better hotel at this price!

Conveniently located at town center, next to the christmas shop and close to the church plaza. Medival decoration of the hotel at the new wing is gorgeous. The view of the balcony at the guest room is also beautiful. The staff was helpful in helping me locate the my air ticket and hotel information I misplaced in the old wing. The original guest room booked via Booking com is located at the old building opposite to the new wing where the hotel lobby is. The old building is very moldy and not well illuminated, just like a creepy haunted house. The wooden floor creaked under our feet and the lingering smell made us sick. Since we couldn't bear staying in that building for an extra second, we requested for an immediate change. They charged us for an additional charge of 25 Euro (from 100 b&b to 125 bed only) to upgrade our booking to a clean room with a bacony (no breakfast included). We had no choice but dug deeper in our wallet. It makes us wonder if this is a trap.

We loved this hotel in Rothenberg. We stayed during the Christmas Markets. It's location and charm are it's strong points. It's directly off the main square and close to everything, shops, restaurants, the Night Watchman tour, the historical tour, and the palace grounds. It is right next to the main Kathe Wohlfahrt store in town which had lines out the door. The hotel is over 400 years old and it's beautiful, especially the lobby, the stairs, and hallways which are filled with beautiful antiques. Our classic/double room was very clean but slightly dated, which didn't bother us in the least. It had a seperate large bath area, but we had a room with a bathtub and no shower. The staff was very helpful, even getting us reservations at one of the restaurants we were interested in. We'd definitely stay here again if we visit this area of Germany.

They have a building across street from main hotel which is inferior to main hotel. They do not tell you this when booking. It was awful!! I feel mislead and cheated!

Excellent staff, excellent food at evening meal, clean comfortable room, great location Breakfast was not as good as other hotels I have stayed in Germany, and room was located across the street from main lobby, which was somewhat inconvenient, but doable.

Great Location. Very spacious & comfortable room No a/c, though that's not so uncommon. Went with a group of friends, we all stayed in different places. This hotel was similarly Equipped as Prinz Hotel, but much more expensive. You are really paying for location, even though Prinz Hotel is only 4 tiny blocks away.

Exceptionally courteous and professional staff in one of the most charming hotels in one of Germany's most charming walled towns. Situated just off the main square, it provides top-notch service, exceptional food, and some of the best ambiance along Germany's Romantic Road.

This hotel has a long history and is a character building in which to stay. Has all modern amenities yet maintains its traditions. Our double room was spacious and comfortable. While street facing, the double set of windows adequately reduced street noise. Hotel restaurant was most satisfactory for dinner and nice surroundings or patio dining. Valet parking worked fine. Alternative is p5 outside walls and then 5-10 minute walk to hotel.

We arrived at the train station and walked to Hotel Eisenhut... Maybe 20 minutes. The Hotel is within the medevil city wall and very close to the town square. The hotel is an older building, very charming. The weather was warm during our visit and our room was without air conditioning. We enjoyed our stay, especially as it turned out to be the annual medevil festival in Rothenburg de Tauber! No air conditioning.

Stayed many times at Hotel Eisenhut and have enjoyed the hotel and the medival city. The town is unique in that it really turns back the pages of history. It is a picture-taking paradise with all sorts of opportunities for great and unique pictures. We will visit again and soon. A bit pricey and the hot and humid weather distracted from an otherwise grand time. Also, could have used fewer tour groups romping through town. Did not see a need for the heavy charge for parking and breakfast, which should have been gratis.

Loved the location - bang in the middle of the main town sq. Walking distance to all major attractions (tiny town anyways). The heritage and history might fascinate you. No ventilation and no air-conditioning. Stayed there for 3 nights with average temperature hovering in the 32 - 35 degree Celsius range - extremely hot & stuffy inside the room. Also, rooms facing the square are noisy during the night (drunken brawl on the streets after midnight - presume it was the aftereffect of the wine festival).

Excellent hotel with a style in keeping with the local area, but not compromising on comfort. Rooms are large and stylish, with modern bathrooms and very comfortable beds. The complementary fruit plate and evening chocolates were a nice touch. Buffet breakfast was excellent, both in food offered and value for money.

Good location, very close to Markt Plaz. Classic furnitures are so exciting and fantastic. Staff are so kind and friendly. They are not so big problems, but easy to hear the nozie from next door because of room with thin walls, and a bit difficult to take bath because of no showcartains.

The hotel is perfectly situated right in the middle of the town. Other than that it does not provide the comfort to warrant the price. The interior is very worn out, our room was extremely dusty and the the minibar fridge was molded, the floors were uneven, and the door did not close all the way. The hotel staff was ok, neither friendly nor unfriendly.

Its location...it was next door to my favourite store...Kathy Wohlfahrt! Lots of shopping and sightseeing close by. Room we stayed in was two stories, so plenty of room. The room had stairs that were not child friendly...I Was constantly worried my young children would fall down the stairs and catch a limb or their head in the metal swirl design on the staircase. There were tiny elevators that brought us close to our floor but we had to switch elevators at one floor and get on another that stopped at the floor below our rm. Then we had to drag all of our luggage for a family of 5 up 2 flights of stairs to our rm. I did not like this at all. Not very child or family friendly.
