Very good hotel, with a very good location for sightseeing trips. The staff in reception is friendly and kindly provided us with WiFi access keys for each of our two devises. Room was kept clean and nice by the cleaning-staff every day. Free parking also was available. No refrigerator in the room.

The location of the hotel was well situated. The breakfast was excellent and there was plenty of choice. The rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Outside parking was an issue. We arrived late so had to park in the nearby multi-storey car park .

Clean, well kept hotel. Parking outside fine. Breakfast ok. Price 75 euros for double. Very good, but you get what you pay for. No soul, boring rooms, no minibar. Old gentleman in reception did not speak english. Kept on speaking german to me although I said "Ich spreche kein Deutsch". He just ignored it and kept on babbling in german, for a moment I thought I was in France... No info on how to use wifi.

Great location, within easy walking distance from the station & the old town. Welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Spoke great English too. Spotlessly clean. Warm, comfortable room. Delicious breakfast in cosy, breakfast room. No restaurant, but drinks are available from the bar & there are a variety of eating places nearby. TV had access to English channel. There are about 6 steps up to reception. A little challenging, but when I was leaving they got a staff member to help me with my luggage.

The staff were courteus,friendly,helpful and efficient.The room and hotel was clean and comfortable,well equiped and well heated for the severe winter weather.The breakfast was well laid out, had good choice and was in a comfortable setting. Parking was limited,but this is the same for all the centrally placed Lubeck hotels and the the Excelsior is better served than most.

The location is perfect; Staffs are friendly and nice - been very helping! Facilities are of good quality. Breakfast is good. There are several steps from front door to the reception as well as the corridor to the lift other end which are incovenient for heavy baggage carrying.

Close to main station and walking distance to Hamburg City centre. Pleasant room and great breakfast. Nice bedding and linen. Coffee available in foyer. Shower over quite a high bath, hard to get in. No good for elderly persons.

Very good location: near the old town and near the railway station. Nevertheless if you have a room with windows not to the square, it's quiet there and there is no any noise. Hotel was reconstructed not long ago so the room is absolutely new: furniture, bathroom equipment. VERY good and cheap breakfast! Free parking (but very small). The price of the room is reasonable.

The breakfast was excellent given the overall value of our stay. They have a good variety of everything and even though it technically ends at 10.00 the waiting staff kept the food out until 10.30 and let us sit until 11.00 as we finished our food and coffee (we were given a whole jug which I didn't want to waste) It was a tad expensive for our budget but there were no good alternatives.
