Good as the base for outdoor activities like hiking and biking. Our kind of vacation wasn't based on what the town has to offer, but on the surrounding nature, so I can't say much about the tourist's attractions in the town. Sometimes there's a problem to find a place to eat. You have to reserve a place in the restaurant in order to get there. The fact that most of the restaurants have the same days off is not helping too. Generally speaking, nice place. Not cheap though.

Schluchsee is lovely.
Schluchsee is lovely. The location is perfect, 20min to titisee and, 20 min to feldberg (highest peak with cable lifts), 50 min to schaffhaussen or basel, 50 min to Freiburg. In the summer period the see is so nice with boats and beaches everywhere. Just a great place

Beautiful town and lake, bike hire, boat hire, walking, small stone beeches for sunbathing, cafe/ bars around lake , gift shops, several bars/ resturants in town, fantastic area for the family.

Amazing and very welcoming!
Amazing and very welcoming! Great for short w-e at Feldberg Ski Station but also for walking/running in the forest or by the lake. After a day of exercise there is nothing better than relaxing at Badeparadies Schwarzwald. It is Highly recommended to have Schwarzwald Card since it includes Ski pass + Wellness ;)

Schluchsee was relaxing, not overrun by tourists, plenty of lake pleasure and Black Forest walks. The Seehof restaurant was enjoyable with well-cooked food and the best service with a smile. The red card with 100 activities for free, including train trips is a bonus.

I do not understand the bad reviews, so thats why I give it a 10, to offset the other reviews. We had a room with a nice balcony and view, and the bathroom was clean and renovated. The house itself is a bit older, but thats okay. other hotels in this location sometimes ask double the price for a room. We enjoyed our time and are visiting again.DavidBelgium

It is astonishingly beautiful. During our stay, we also used the breakfast and afternoon tea and cake there. The food, especially the cake, is delicious. The hotel staff treated us with care and patience. We also used the sauna in the hotel. It is definitely a good place to go in winter and in summer.

Bed room and hall were having direct view through the glasses. Hiking trial is right in front of it and also Spass park. We are surprised to see so many utensils and other relevant items you need for a family. I recollect my grandma's home :) Best place to be with family and we loved Schluchsee a lot.

We could drop the bikes in the garage. It is 100 m from the trainstation ( we got free travel tickets from the hotel) what is great if you want to stop the Gipfeltrail or start here.
