The town offers a sports and leisure centre "Föhrenheide", with tennis courts, curling (in summer and winter), a garden with high wire bridge, shooting sports, an ice-skating rink and much more. In addition, the heated outdoor pool at Werdenfels and 2 golf courses (1 with 18 holes and 1 with 9 holes) can be found nearby. For winter sports fans, there is a cross-country ski run and a ski lift for beginners. Numerous cable cars and lifts can also be found in the neighbouring town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen (3 km) and Grainau.
Visits to the Kuhflucht waterfalls and the 'forest adventure trail' in Farchant are recommended. A little further afield you will find, among other things, the Bavarian "Königsschlösser" ("King's Castles"), Wies church and Ettal Abbey.

Mostly it was the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the bed. Other hotels have a more spectacular location but are not so friendly or nicely presented. |

Staff very friendly and attentive. Little bit of a language barrier as our German isn't very good. The breakfast was good and plenty for all guests. They offered cakes and coffee each afternoon and the cakes were delicious! The hotel was very quaint. |

We liked this very friendly hotel. The owner and his staff are exceptional,coffee & cake on arrival is a nice welcome as is the garden area. Our room was clean,quiet,stylish decor.The location is a bit "out of town" with a shortage of local eating houses. |

We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. We made a reservation for a triple room, and were surprised to get a 2-rooms condo. If you like the countryside - this is the hotel for you. Very warm people running the place. Breakfast was great. The bed was not so comfortable. |

We were lucky and got a brand new room with a beautiful design and decorations. The bed was very comfortable and there was a huge sofa too. Upon arrival they served complimentary tea and cakes. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended! |

The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and confortable and the breakfast was very good. There were many places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. Our room also had an amazing view of the mountains and the hotel was a 5 minute drive to Garmisch. There was nothing we did not like about the hotel. We would give a heads up to others that they did not provide soap so you will need to bring your own. |

The staff (2 whole people-husband and wife) were the sweetest, most helpful folks I think I have ever met. Breakfast was Bavarian style. In the afternoon they offer tea/coffee and homemade cake(s) from scratch! The stay was great! I will return for sure. No biggie, but the shower doesn't exactly fit two people for the 'you wash my back, I wash yours' moments. |

we really enjoyed our stay the hotel was spotless, the room was beautifully decorated with plenty of space and lovely views of the mountains. The hotel staff were charming - I could not fault this hotel. Afternoon cafe and kuchen for guests was a lovely suprise and a nice gesture for guests. The hotel is within walking distance of a lovely outdoor pool complex- not too be missed! |

Right away we were greeted very warmly. The room was a family room and very spacious and clean! They serve coffee and cake in the afternoon. We arrived later on after a day of sightseeing and were still welcome to coffee and cake. We enjoyed the evening outside on the terrace. They do have a selection of beverages for the evening at a very reasonable price. A lovely breakfast was provided in the morning where person attention was given to all of their guests. We would love to come back for the ski season. |

We had a triple room and it was larger than expected with a very large ensuite - looks brand new. Breakfast was excellent and the bonus was the free coffee and cake served every afternoon - best chocolate cake we have had in along time. Free parking was also a bonus. Very close to Garmisch - about 5 mins. drive. |

Not only is the hotel very pretty and immaculately clean and well appointed, but the staff is obviously dedicated to making your stay a memorable one. There was only one thing that I would recommend to add to the hotel and that is one Enlish language TV station like CNN. We were there at a time when we were following something in the news and part of our party did not understand any German at all. We would have appreciated seeing the news in English. Apart from that, I don't think there is anything I don't like about the hotel. |
