Everything...fantastic place! Loved the modern decor with the Old World charm, breakfast was delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer. 5 Stars!

This Hotel was very nice. Everything.

The rooms were nice, but a bit weird in the layout. In order to use the bathroom, our kids had to go through the bed room to get there. Two double beds, with two teenage boys, one chose to sleep on the floor rather than share with his pesky younger brother. Breakfast was nice, nothing extraordinary, but adequate and filling. They did offer a nice afternoon/early evening coffee/tea with yummy cakes/pies to those interested.

Better directions to the hotel. Difficult to find in the dark. No other amenities than the room and breakfast.

Owner was super friendly and a great baker. Coffee and desserts every afternoon was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious - large selection. Room was beautiful and clean. The whole house was gorgous and we enjoyed hanging out in the study to do some work and communications with friends and family back home. Super friendly staff and they spoke English quite well.

I loved the small town and they had several good restaurants in short walking distance. Only drawback but I enjoyed were the 20+ cows that walk by the home on the way to pasture at 5:30am wearing very loud cowbells. For me though, I would fall right back asleep after I jumped up to watch them from our balcony.

We had a beautiful room and the staff were very friendly indeed. Breakfast was also very nice and the hotel's location was ideal. We would have liked to have been able to stay longer!

Unfortunately there is currently a building site next door to the hotel. However, this did not disturb us.

Family run hotel with character and charm. We had booked double room with additional bed.The owner courtesy offered us a separate room for our son free of charge. The rooms were nice and clean. Dining room was nice with spacious breakfast. You can pass coffee time on the terrace with free dessert every afternoon. Evening meal is not served in the hotel. There is cosy lounge with games and books for friendly gatherings. The owners and personal are very friendly and helpful. Good location: 10 min by car from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Ettal, Schloss Linderhof. замечательный семейный отель с характером и шармом. комнаты в баварском стиле, чистые и комфортабельные. никаких излишеств, но все необходимое. гели-шампуни, при необходимости, можно приобрести за дополнительную плату. просторный зал для завтрака, очень разнообразного и по-домашнему вкусного. в послеобеденное время ( с 15:00) предлагается кофе с бесплатными десертами на террасе. уютный сад с фонтаном. бесплатная парковка и WiFi. персонал очень вежливый и отзывчивый. в отеле есть гостинная с играми, большим телевизором, книгами, где можно провести время компанией. удачное месторасположение для спокойного отдыха. гармиш в 10 мин езды на машине или поезде (станция в двух шагах от отеля).

We absolutely loved our stay - beautiful decor and wonderful breakfast!!! The highlight for us were the cakes in the afternoon - we would leave whatever we were doing in the afternoon and rush back for afternoon coffee and cake - everyday a choice of several different exquisite cakes baked onsite. My other favorite thing was seeing (and hearing) the cows being led out to pasture at 6:45 every morning and coming home at 5:30 at night just across the street from the hotel. This is a lovely place to stay out of the bustle of Garmish-Partenkirchen but only a five minute drive away.

We received a warm welcome on arrival and the staff were friendly and helpful, we have limited German and that was not a problem. The family 'room', actually two rooms, was lovely and traditionally furnished. We enjoyed sitting on our lovely balcony in the evening. The beds were very comfortable and the accommodation spotlessly clean. The breakfast provided was plentiful with a good choice of options, afternoon coffee and cakes provided every day were welcomed after a day walking in the beautiful mountains in the area. The hotel was excellently located on the edge of a quiet village within easy drive of all the local activities and cable cars etc.

Food! Environment

We stayed more than 10 days in the Fohrenhof Garni Hotel in Farchant. The surroundings are beautiful and the views are really spectacular.The room was big, with good facilities, with an abundent breakfast. We also were pleasantly surprised by the daily habit to offer cofee and cookies and traditional pie ( for free!). The personnel was really kind and friendly.I Really enjoyed the period spent there.

The only thing which has to be improved is the lack of shampoo and not enough soap in the bathroom.

Hotel Fohrenhof Garni was amazing! Everything from the room, to the mountain views (ours was of the Zugspitze), to the extremely friendly and helpful staff we couldn't ask for anything better. In fact, had we known how wonderful this place was we would have spent our entire week here and not worried about trying to cram in so many sites. As we drove to the b&b we noticed some of the other hotels that we considered and the location of this one has the others beat. It is close enough to some of the larger city ameneties but far enough to enjoy the quietness of the country. We were also spoiled by the great coffee you could get here...they have a Coffee Maker that grinds the beans when you push the type of cup you want and it is better than anything else I had over there. If you want a relaxing place to call home while you explore the German Alps you can't go wrong here.

Nothing...probably one of the most perfect experiences we have had.

The room was charming; it actually was a little apartment/house. This was the nicest and most quaint accomodation that we stayed in during a 14 day trip. The staff was friendly and kind and the location is perfect for Garmisch. Also, the location was very quiet and allowed for perfect sleep, unlike other hotels along the way. Cowbells lulled you to sleep.

We have a family of 5 with two older kids and a 3 year old. Our room was spacious and easily accommodated all of us, with everyone having a beautiful and comfortable bed. The bathroom was large as well. Lots of elbow room to relax after a day of sightseeing. In the afternoon, they serve scrumptious cake in the restaurant for hotel guests. Absolutely the best desserts I had in Germany. It was a bonus to already lovely stay.

There were a few small attention to detail issues. There was not enough bath gel in the room when we arrived for all 5 of us to use some. And then it was not restocked the second day. During cleaning of the room the second day, they removed one of our soap and did not replenish it. We o ly had a sliver of soap left in the shower so we would have liked another small bar or two to replace the one they cleaned up.

Michael ,owner,chef,host greeted us like old friends. Although we arrived in the early evening, he offered us coffee and the most delicious pastries you could imagine. Of course all were made by him. His assistant Manuela, who seems to wear multiple hats, was no less amazing. She single handedly presided over the beautiful breakfast rooms. The food was delicious and plentiful with a large variety of breakfast options, all of gourmet quality and freshness. The hotel is in the chalet style with a lovely view. The room was simply furnished, with good beds and updated bathroom facilities. If we ever travel to this region again, surely we would stay here again.

It's a very nice Bavarian hotel located just outside the main destination. The personnel was extremely nice and helpful.

It was a little hard to find in the dark with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Being quite jetlagged and not having a gps certainly did not help. But the hotel was very patient and guided us in by telephone.

Outstanding! The rooms were very comfortable and super clean. The owners were extremely nice and made sure everything was great for us. We were with our 11 year old and 3 year old and everything was great for them with the balcony and the flat screen TV when mom and dad were tired. There is a specatacular walking trail to a waterfall right behind the hotel. Don't miss it rain or shine! Wonderful place to stay, and we will absolutely be back!
