Forsthaus Graseck  

The Location is exceptional, up a cable car it is a real adventure to get there. Wonderful actually.

not recently renovated so not a luxury experience but the Location,friendly staff and breakfast make up for everything

Private parking for hotel and dining guests, access on the cable car at no extra cost, free continental breakfast, easy access to trails and the Portnach Gorge, staff spoke English and explained things to us efficiently

Parking one night was difficult due to high rush of diners but we squeezed into a spot. No mini fridge for drinks, take away food, etc.

Most fun hotel we have stayed at in Europe. Love taking the cable car to the hotel and breath taking mountain views

The price, the location and value for money

The staff were friendly and helpful. The location very quiet and peaceful, great for a quiet mountain getaway but be aware it is miles from town and the ski areas. The spa is superb, with sauna, steam room, relaxation rooms, all very new and modern. The cable car adds a querky experience.

We stayed here for a couple of days skiing, and due to the isolated location, found it very difficult to get to the ski areas. You have to get the hotel cable car down, then walk for 20 min to the nearest bus stop, then wait for the fairly in-frequent buses to do the 20 min journey to the ski lifts. This is obviously only a problem for skiers or boarders but worth noting if your considering this as your main activity. Be aware there are no restaurant options other than the hotel restaurant ( there appeared to be one at the bottom of the cable car but was never open during our stay). We struggled to eat any later than 20:30 so bare this in mind if you want to eat here after any apres activities. The rooms though comfortable, were tired and the bathroom small and a bit grotty. Didn't think much to the food, but big portions and did the job after a days skiing.

The road driving up to the cable car had many pedestrians walking in the middle of the street, who were very slow in moving out of the way. Thus, we got stuck in the snow.

We loved our stay. The staff was so nice, it was very clean and the location is amazing.

the gondola up to the hotel in the mountains, was fantastic

unable to pay with Maestro. So having to take the gondola up and down wasn't that quick.

Quaintness and aumbiance was outstanding. Restaurant was very good. Location was very scenic and peaceful. Lovely setting.

Would have like to have had Wifi offered or at least offer it at a lower price.

I recently stayed here with my husband, mother-in-law and 1 yr old son. The location was amazing. The staff were super helpful and the food was great! I will defiantly stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

If you are looking to get away from it all - Forsthaus Graseck could not be more ideal. It's a little strange and feels a little bit like the Shining up, but its actually pretty nice. It's not new and shiny, but was clean. Turn off your phone, check in this hotel, eat at the restaurant (all the food I had was really good), and hike around the beautiful trails in the area.

Wifi is pretty bad. I had to use my computer in only one spot out on my balcony.

The location is fantastic for enjoying the mountains and its proximity to Partenach-Klamm (Gorge).

Great value for the money.

This is the 4th time we've stayed at the Forsthaus; it's the best for the Garmisch-Partenach area. I love the cable car ride up to the hotel; ensures it is peaceful at night and such wonderful mountain views morning, noon and evening. The staff is wonderful; the breakfasts good. Not all that far from the Famous Castles and Ettal Monastery.

I had early morning meetings and had forgotten that breakfast didn't start until 0730 so I missed out on Breakfast.

location is very good!

Location is really excellent for peoples who like nature and mountains but still need some level of comfort.

Bavarian meals

It was a lovley start to our holliday, a typical Bavarian/Alpian hotel, high in the mountains, where on a hot day there was a beautifull breeze. The journey in the gondola was breathtaking. The staf were friendly, the food was very good and the location was excellent for walking through the Patriach gourge.

Love, love this place. Our second trip here, and we're already planning a third. The meals are fabulous (request the fondue!), full breakfast buffet in the mornings, and friendly staff. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

They are friendly and they recpect other culture

The location was wonderful and the staff was great! We arrived on motorcycles after having been through a rain storm - the staff brought us comfy shower shoes/slippers and dried our clothing for us. The restaurant was phenomenal and the prices were so much less than we expected! We had a room for 4 people (one double, one bunk bed) and it was very comfortable; the bathroom was in the room and large enough to move around in. The ride up to the hotel in the cable car was beautiful and easy - just print your reservation ahead of time to show the attendant for free tickets. We also added a fifth person after our reservation and they still allowed him to ride with us for free. It is away from the hustle of the town so if you want a quiet, tranquil evening (not a party scene), definitely stay here!!

The facility was a bit run down. It definitely needed some renovation.

I choose the single room with share shower room. It's clean and comfortable. The cable car to get to the hotel is special and suprise to me. I like it. The balconey outside for dinner has a very good view to mountain. I will come back definetely.

The Forsthaus Graseck has a spectacular view and simple but comfortable rooms. Sitting outside with a beer and enjoying the view while our children played in the play area was wonderful. If you have any interest in hiking, this is a great starting point. We also got a huge kick out of taking the gondola up to the hotel (but be warned, if the winds kick up too much the gondola doesn't run!). Don't miss taking a walk down through the Partnach Gorge!!

The food at the restaurant was not very good and the breakfast hostess kept putting our family in the back of the breakfast room (where we didn't have a view) even though there were tables available near the front.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. Staff was helpful and informative.
