Score from 167 reviews Very good
The location is close to shopping and restaurants. Wonderful and varied breakfast. The best is the dining experience with traditional Bavarian music and dancing. And the view of the ALPS - incredible.
Nothing. This is a guest house, not a luxury hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Ours had a balcony and view of the Alps.
The hands on hospitality by the owner. The room with a spectacular view of the mountains. The flower boxes on the balconies. The breakfast buffet especially with fresh fruit every morning. We ate dinner there every evening and every meal was great. Shared our table with some Germans on vacation and that was great as they helped us pick out traditional German food from the menu. Would definitely stay there again.
Hard pressed to say anything. All our expectations were met.
staff very helpful entertainment in the evening was geat
Hotel located in very picturesque part of town. Nearby bars and food excellent. Breakfast.
Decor a bit tired
The location was good, breakfast was good. In the morning we met the original owner who was very nice and friendly. For one night it was ok.
We had rooms in the main building, and were ok, very tired and in need of an update. The hallways smelled of old stale cigarettes, since the rooms were all above the dining hall/bar area. If you can not walk up stairs there is no lift, so just be prepared. The rooms we a bit outdated, and definitely not the rooms pictured on the webpage, these rooms I am guessing were in a building back behind the main guest house? If going back to this area I would not stay here again.
Everything. Our 2nd visit here and loved it. Great restaurant with traditional Bavarian music and entertainment every night except Tuesday. It was the owners 70th birthday whilest we were there and the whole town came out with a parade and music down the Main Street!!!
Had a 3rd floor room facing the Zugspitze, made it worth it. Great friendly staff, good breakfasts and dining food, great evening entertainment.
A time worn place. No elevator. Questionable security. Small room & bathroom.
One of the best breakfasts we have enjoyed in 31 years of living/travelling in Europe.
Restaurant had great food. Quiet Excellent staff
The location is right downtown Partenkirchen. Beautiful old building.
Privately owned hotel where the owners do things 'their way'. And Bavarians are not 'born to work in the hospitality industry'. They are direct, even rude. - Hello we would like to check in. - Well follow me then! No noise after 11! Understood? And that was the entire conversation.
Barbara and her staff are wonderful! Food is great! Wi-fi is good and free!
Rooms should be updated - TV, furniture upholstery and window treatments are old. Hallways are very dark!! Raised door frames make for hazardous walking in hallways and into rooms.
Very well trained staff. & service lovely setting & grounds great room
Church bells at. 6 am
Fantastic breakfast!! Location really good for the centre.
We were traveling with our 16 month old daughter and they were very accommodating. A crib was provided and the restaurant had a child seat. We really enjoyed the restaurant and dined there most nights. They had German music every night starting at 7 and there was also German dancing which really helped keep our daughter entertained. The ambiance of the restaurant was amazing and festive The breakfast was excellent as well. The location was excellent- on the quaint main street in Partikirchen. Our visit to Garmisch-Partinkirchen, and particularly our stay at Gasthof Fraundorfer, was one of the highlights of our trip to Germany. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
We stayed in the guest house behind the main building and restaurant, which was off the main street. We would have preferred the main building. The room we stayed in needed to be aired out when we got in because there was an odd smell and the room itself could use some updating and refurbishing.
Enjoyed very much the genuine Bavarian atmosphere, the friendly staff and the excellent food. We will remember our stay at the Gasthof Fraundorfer for years to come with many happy memories. Highly recommended.
No negative experience, all was as expected and more!
The Food was exceptional, proper Bavarian fare... The entertainment really made the night; a Bavarian sing song night with some traditional Bavarian dancing. The entertainment is on every night except Tuesday. The rooms are spotless and the Wifi the best I have experienced at a hotel in a long time. You must visit this establishment if you are in the area!
We had heard that the food alone was worth the stay and after even the local restaurnts nearby could not compare. Fantastic local dishes! Our rooms were in the back away from the restaurant and inn so this helped cut down on the noise from the late night local crowd. Bathrooms were modern and up to date. Location can not be beat! Right on the legendary Ludwigstrasse with all the fantastic hikes in the back yard of this wonderful town. Walking distance to 2 nearby grocery stores. We spent three nights here after seeing the castles in Fussen, then were able to check off Linderhof, Schachen, the Alpspitze hikes, Ettal, Oberammergau and Partnachklamm all from this great central location.
Parking is limited and cramped. There are not enough spaces for the number of people that had cars and we seemed to have to share with restaurant patrons. There were two times we changed our plans because we knew if we left we would have no where to park when we came back. However, this is not an issue if you are only using local transportation.
Breakfast aS the best ever (not English) but everything imaginable for European type breakfast. Included personal device for coffee, tea, juice and boiled eggs when needed. Local music in bar every night. Big room, great shower, central for shops and bars/restaurants.
Location Germany influence at dinner Accommodating staff
visit was too short, unfortunately!
FOOD!!! View Personnel
Greeted warmly when we checked in. The place had a great old world charm. But, I would recommend asking for a room with full height ceilings.
Our room was on top floor and had low sloping ceilings. We had to constantly be vigilant so that we wouldn't hit our heads. The next day the breakfast staff was very curt. I said I would be returning to eat a little later (it was only 8 am and breakfast went 'till 10am) and she looked at her watch and sighed like it was a big problem.
very fun decor, good food, enjoyed the musicians and outdoor seating
lots of stairs to climb, but we had wonderful mountain view from our room
The breakfast and their special treatment. Very very kind
Location, breakfast, good water pressure, nice rooms with balcony and free parking.
