Hotel Georghof Berlin  

Booked in advance and got it for 34 euros which is cheap for Berlin for a double room. Supposed to be 3 star, but it's really not. Compared to the Best Western Hotel City Ost nearby, which is also 3 star, the Georghoff is much older and at least one 1 star, if not 2 less in terms of cleanliness, location and general standard.The Geroghoff is near the railway but I didn't find this a problem as the noise wasn't intrusive and I slept well. Small rooms, shower over bath type isn't great. Ok for the money but really just above hostel standard, not a 3 star hotel.Nice little bar across the road.

Girl on desk was chatting to probably her boyfriend when I checked in. She set phone down and gave me key as quickly as possible, to get back to her conversation. I got up to the room and the key card wouldn't swipe, so had to return to her( she was still on the phone) and explain the key wouldn't work. This time, she didn't get off the phone and punched the keys on her pc and handed me back the card. Not very friendly or good service. Internet access is only via one laptop in hotel lobby @ 1euro per hour. The bar was closed all afternoon and didn't open at all that night. I wouldn't stay here again.

Price was affordable and location is good, not far from U-bahn station, breakfast was quite good

I have booked 3 non-smoking rooms however 2 of them appeared to be with distinctive smell. Hotel is quite old and needs renovation. Stuff on reception was not polite. Late check-in time - 14:00 and not possible to check-in if you arrive one hour before. Near is U-bahn and S-bahn and busy road, upper floor rooms under the roof are noisy during the rain.

Rather noisy road outside my window, but luckily I'm used to this. :-)

The room was surprisely very nice, maybe a bit small for an entire week, but quite and clean. THe bathroom was big enough and clean as well. Our room was in the last floor and on the street side - with the windows closed there was no sound coming from outside. The breakfast was also very good.

The bed wasn't so good - we had some problems the first night but after that was ok.

Location and facilities.

Neat clean rooms, very accommodating staff, kettle in room, free wifi, they have a lift, 24hr reception, they will accept your luggage if you have to move out of other accommodation prior to checkin time and they have smoking rooms.

They put us in a twin room to start with when we specifically booked a double bed...they said they weren't available so I think there is a miscommunication between the booking site and their 'actual' availability records. They were more than happy to change it the next day when one became available. The breakfast was only available until 10am...we are late risers. The wifi cuts out at about 1am...we are late going to bed.

Very noisy

The location (right on the U-Bahn) is excellent as are the very reasonable rates of this hotel. The room was clean and well maintained. I'd stay here again if I come back to Berlin. RS

Wifi works perfectly, 2 min from frankfurter allee metro station, easy going, problably the cheapest hotel in berlin

The rooms on the railway may not be the best choice for light sleepers, brown haired staff is kind, blond haired staff is a bit rude, dunno why but it's true

Location is excelante even if its is 7km from center. There is everything near the hotel! Shopping center, u bahn, s bahn, trams, busses, bars...

Railway is 3 meters away from the room window of our room. If you sleep light this is not the hotel for you.

Good location although on the outskirts of Friedrichshain. Excellent room facilities, very clean. Value for money ok.

Hotel staff a little distant. Couldn't offer much advice about Friedrichshain and didn't have a local map.
