Great location and Friendly staff....Beautiful, Historic Hotel Hotel is let down by it's overall cleanliness.....Needs a fresh coat of paint inside and a good spring cleaning to knock out the musky smell and give the interior a brighter look to show off it's beautiful design. Interior is a bit dark and oppresive because of this. Breakfast was not worth the 11 Euros either

This Hotel was great value for money, over one hundred years old, well maintained, old world art deco charm. It has a grand stair case leading up to the rooms, and an old but well maintained lift, beautiful period furnishings, art work and sculptures are in the lobby stairwell and the spacious hallways and waiting areas. Lovely view of the gardens, park and water fountain behind the Kurhaus. Make sure you ask for a room with a view as the ones to the front all have lovely big balconies over looking the gardens. The breakfast buffet was stylish and had a great variety, they also did special orders in the kitchen for no extra cost. Also if you have a car, reserve a parking place as parking on the street maybe difficult. If no parking spaces are available the Kurhaus parking garage is about 200 metres away. There is a luggage drop off area out the front of the hotel. My wife and I were delighted with this place. We were on a house hunting trip, which also turned also into a romantic leisure trip, the restaurants are close by and there was a wonderful Christmas Market in full swing in the old town 5 minutes walk away. Superb service by the staff. This isn't really a negative but you should be aware that although the hotel is rather inexpensive considering it's luxurious old world appearance and great location, everything else is an added cost, ie the breakfast, the parking, the wi fi internet in your room. But not unreasonable prices either. We compared staying at a modern hotel out by train station where everything was in the room rate. Compared to Hotel Fuerstenhof hotel they were about the same cost, all things included, about 100 Euro for one night for two people. Considering the location, decor, romantic atmosphere etc Hotel Fuerstenhof was far and away the better option for us. One down side was the WiFi in the room broke on the first night, there was a computer in the lobby that was free so no big deal really, a minor inconvenience as we were on a house hunting trip so I just sat in the lobby for an hour or so emailing Real Estate Agents on two occasions, We were not charged for the few hours the room WiFi did work when we arrived.

“The hotel itself is very historic on a quiet street. Rooms are updated and small. Windows open! The bathroom was large. Very very comfortable. The breakfast was to die for ($5 E each)! The location was great - near park and night life. About 1/2 hour walk from train station. I'd describe the hotel as comfortable and efficient but not luxurious (except breakfast).” Janice, Colorado Springs |
