This is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Heidelberg and the surrounding area. The owners are very friendly, the buffet breakfast is delicious. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. If you need help finding places in the area just ask, they will give you directions and suggestions. The car ride into Heidelberg is very easy and direct. We had a lot of fun biking along the bike paths with the bikes we borrowed from the owners. You are close enough to both Heidelberg and Schwentizger that you can bike to them. We drove along part of the Castle Road and explored two ruin castles, hiked to the ruuin amplitheater in Heildeberg and visited the palace in Schwentizger plus other adventures. When visiting Heidelberg, this is the place to stay!

This hotel is a real gem. Volker made us feel very welcome from the minute we booked. He sent us an email thanking us for booking with them and gave us a list of places that might interest us in the Heidelberg area. When we returned he also sent us an email thanking us for staying with them. The place is spacious, very clean and bright. Everything is of the highest quality. Had a great range of foods for breakfast and his wife was willing to cook up eggs any way we wanted. It is a little way from Heidelberg but if you have a car there is absolutely no problem. I wished we could have stayed longer.

Good location to towns and highways, great staff, great breakfast, very clean, free use of bicycles and free parking.

We were originally booked in for 3 nights and were so delighted with this hotel that we extended our stay for 2 extra nights. The room was large, clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent. Plenty of restaurants in the local area to choose from for the evening meals. Very well located for touring by car to nearby attractions. We loved the friendliness of the owners, and followed their advice regarding day visits and had the best tourist experiences by following their suggestions. The ambiance of the hotel was totally friendly and relaxed. We will definitely stay there again when visiting the area.

Excellent hotel, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good including some scrambled eggs and bacon rustled up by Volker. Volker is an excellent host and very helpful.

The only slight disappointment is that the hotel is a good 10-15 minutes drive from the centre of Heidelberg rather than being more centrally located; however this does mean the hotel is in a quiet location - guess you can't have everything!!

You need to find a way how to get to hotel as it's not in center city

Its location was very nicely suited to traveling through. It was near Heidelberg but not right in town so we didn't have to deal with traffic or parking problems. They also recommended a fantastic restaurant in Schwetzingen (just a couple minutes down the road) for dinner. The room was very comfortable and spacious.

The curtains were sheer with just decorative side hangings that you could not pull over the windows. It made it a bit awkward to change clothes as you had to do it with the lights off else anyone out int he courtyard could look right through the sheer curtains.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner who could not have been more helpful. He gave us all the information neccessary to have a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were very spàcious,clean and modern. Heidelberg was a short journey away and easily accessed. We could not have stayed anywhere more comfortable and enjoyable on our visit to heidelberg. Well done, a truly fabulous stay.

Our two night stay in a double room was partly a stopover but we also used it as an opportunity to visit Heidelberg. The location was perfect because it was away from the main road but the city was within easy reach. Our host was extremely helpful in suggesting other places to visit in the area. He ensured that we were on the right track by providing us with detailed directions and hand drawn maps to parking places and restaurants he recommended. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and extremely clean. The breakfasts were superb - lots of variety including cooked options like eggs and bacon. If we revisited the area we would definitely stay here.
