We stayed in an apartment, in the building across from the hotel. The apartment exactly matched the pictures, except for a newer TV, and had a great view from the balcony. It was very clean and well stocked with towels, kitchen utensils, salt/pepper, coffee filters, etc. Wi-fi was being installed (they bought a new router while we were there), and we could access it from our balcony. It was quiet and within walking distance of stores, restuarants, and you could walk to the base of the mountains or drive 5-10 minutes to access hiking and gondola rides. It was also very reasonably priced. We didn't interact much with the stuff, so I can't comment on that aspect. I would definitely reccomend it!
We sleep in late, and we were woken up around 9:30/10:00 by some hammering and also vaccuuming in the building. I suspect the sound-proofing isn't superior, but we never heard any of the other guests.
The owner was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has umbrellas in the lobby for guests to borrow, as well as a terrace and yard for relaxing. Location was perfect, 10 minutes walking from the train station, one block to the town center and an even shorter walk to the closest bus stop. The room had plenty of space and a closet and hooks to hang sweaty or wet sports clothing. Shower and sink were very modern with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was standard but the owners were always asking if anyone needed anything else and refilling coffee. The wifi connection was strong.
The only thing I would change is the window in my single room on the top floor. It had a skylight, which did let a lot of nice fresh air inside and provided a view of the mountains, but it also let the hot morning sun in, right over the bed. Hard to stay sleeping that way.
good location to take the mount train good guide to sight seeing
too low wifi signal
Excellent place with very friendly and helpful staff. Good location near railstation. Отличное уютное место недалеко от ЖД-станции. Внимательный персонал, чистая тихая комната, все очень душевно.
I was mostly pleased from cleanness of the room and kindness of the owner.
single room was tiny one
The location and the staff couldn't be better! The receptionist was amazingly friendly and always willing to help and guide me. The room was perfectly clean and the bed was better than my own.. 5 minute walk to main train/bus station and a 2 minute walk to centre.. The breakfast was good! You can choose from many different kinds of hot drinks (for an example latte, cappuccino, hot choco...) I will definitely go back again!
It's an old house, but aren't they all in Garmisch?:)
Good staff, answer all my questions and more. Good location: near tram to top, ski-bus stop, ski-rental, 5 minutes walk from the center with a lot of shop & restorants Good breakfast
Bad was small
Quaint family run hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Extremely friendly!
All help or what we needed were completely solved by help of the hotel manager. Breakfast is good including service.
Shampoo is not provided.
Nice hotel with very friendly stuff and good location
Quiet, a little outside the Centre of Garmisch Good breakfast
A little wearn out interior
Very friendly and attentive staff. Excellent breakfast and coffee! They gave good recommendations for restaurants. The pedestrian area of town was just a block away. We have a car and having on-site parking was one of the reasons why we booked here. I would stay here again.
The wifi was on and off depending on time of day and usage by other guests.
Very conveniently located - walking distance to train station, ski shop/slopes, bus to slopes, restaurants, groceries & all types of shopping. Cleanliness of the facility. Although the guest room was a small single, it appeared to have been recently remodeled. It was very functional; bed very comfortable; sky light was a treat. Hotel owner/host was very accommodating. I would definitely stay at Hotel Garni Brunnthaler again.
Breakfast was just ok. Bath towels did not include a face cloth.
Location was excellent. 10 minute walk to ski lift, 4 minute walk to central pedestrian shopping & restaurant zone, yet in quiet area. We had a big room that had plenty of space for 2 toddlers and us to move around. Breakfast was decent, free parking, and free wifi. Friendly helpful staff.
Not a big deal and should not deter you from staying here but wifi was either super fast or stopped working at times. But who cares, when on vacation, wifi should not be that important.
The location was excellent and very clean. Would definitely go back.
Really nice staff, helped us a lot for the weather on the peak, so we finally went to the right destination with sun shine on the top. Good location near the town center.
Awesome and very helpful owner of this family-run hotel Location of the hotel which is 5-10 minute-walk to city center and Zugspitzebahn
Been to this hotel several times and location is unbeatable. It is very close to the center of Garmisch where the restaurants are, as well as to the area around the trainstation where the nightlife is. Bathrooms were recently refurbished and fitted with minibars, hotel is squeaky clean and breakfast more than adequate. Parking free on site. Wifi did not work the first evening, then discussed with the owner and promptly fixed. Owner speaks very good English and is helpful.
Everything was fine.
Hotel is located close to Main train station and also to station with Zahnradbahn (the train to Zugspitze).
10 mins walking to the Garmish train station to zugspitze. Room is comfort and clean. Quiet neighborhood.
The guy at reception has no service-minded at all. He was not willing to answer questions. Wifi signal is ok but you have to log in 2 times and that guy didnt care to tell how to make it worked. We realized the way when we checked out.
* very friendly and helpful staff * big room * breakfast was good
* room was too old and smelly i think it's from carpet or something the whole furniture was old. * towels were seemed like they were used a lot * TV isn't flat screen and it was small * Bath didn't have shampoo when i checked in. * location was ok, not near city center but within walking distance and within walking distance to the railways *
Close to center
Directions to hotel were not easy to follow. Parking lot was small.
Convenient position of the hotel with easy access to the town.
Lack of room facilities e.g. drinks
I liked that you could go out on any balcony of any of the rooms on the upper floor and there was a mountain view. The breakfast was substantial. It was a continental breakfast and very good.
This may be picky, but the lights beside each bed were so bright that if one person wanted to read at night, the light from that side of the bed would keep the other person awake.
