Staffs were prompt in their responses back to emails. We had no problems finding the hotel. It was just 5 mins walk from the U bahn station Thalkirchen. Breakfast was good but with limited choices. If u got no universal adapter, u can borrow it with no cost.

No wifi in the room but wlan.

It's 550m from the nearest subway station (u3), and the internet connection sometimes doesn't work, but overall this hotel is really really good.

friendly english speaking staff, spotlessly clean rooms, modern building, good drinks service, comfy lounge, plentiful tasty breakfast.

It is not a central location and there isn't much very nearby (bars, restaurants, etc). but you can hop on the U Bahn and be at Marien Platz within half an hour.

The breakfast buffet was fabulous and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a short walk to the subway and local restaurants.

The staff were outstanding: competent, friendly, prompt, professional, genuinely interested in the comfort of the guest. I haven't seen better at 5-star hotels in Europe. It is very obvious that management takes a great interest in this aspect of the business, selecting carefully and training well. The rooms a bit hospital-like in their colors and materials. Lots of glossy hard surfaces, my room was hospital-gown yellow. I suspect this is related to the attached clinic, designed by the same architect, but it does mean that the room is very easy to clean, and it was kept immaculately. While I was there, management profusely apologized for a day of renovations (painting the whole floor; his apology was so deep I thought they might be putting it on with hammers) and I couldn't figure it out, there was hardly a mark anywhere; these people are scrupulous. And they used some kind of paint that doesn't smell, to avoid disturbing the guests! Large balcony looking into a treed back yard. Excellent furniture oriented around travelers' needs. Very clean carpet and soft furnishings. All fixtures are top quality hotel-grade.

For a city-center visit, there is a 500m walk to the nearest S-Bahn, quite enjoyable on the way out, but after a long day of touristing, perhaps with some purchases weighing you down, it can feel a bit long coming back. Bright side, though, is that the walk is beautiful, along the river, continuously shaded by lovely trees, and populated by ducks and swans.

The hotel is very safe and the room is good, confortable and silent. The breakfast is also great.

The hotel is a little distant from the city center but the metro station is about 5 minutes walk.

Parking was free. The staff was very helpful and spoke English.

We booked this Gastehaus based on the reviews here - so I thought is my duty to report back. This is a very good value for money hotel. Very quiet, very clean. Not a traditional hotel (no restaurant with public access - just for breakfast), not too many facilities. Access is a bit confusing - you need to look for rptc sign. Free undergound parking - you need the key card in order to access it. Breakfast - ok for this level. There is a small fitness room and also a playground for (small) kids. A small bar near the reception. Good italian resdtaurant nearby. U-bahn very close - some 5-6 minutes from the hotel. All in all - excelent value for money.

Minor things - sometimes a bit noisy in the morning. There was a weird noise coming out of the lights near the bed - a sort of a buzz. Did not report it to the hotel - cutting the electricity (removing your card from its place near the door) helped.

Honestly I found nothing negative.

It is a great place to stay. In fact, we recommended it to some fellow travelers we met later, who were headed to Munich and didn't have a reservation anywhere. The location is good--easy to get downtown but in a quiet neighborhood, conducive to sleeping well. The rooms are bright and clean and well-furnished. The breakfast is great. The staff are good-- one really stood out in terms of helpfulness and cordiality.

No complaints, really. Well, I guess there was some noise outside one morning that woke us up when we were trying to sleep in, probably because the windows are so big that there's not much insulated wall between you and outside. But that was pretty minor. If you didn't know the Gastehaus was connected to a clinic, you'd think it was just a nice b&B. More people need to know about it!
