Gästehaus Goldener Hirsch Rothenburg

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Very cosy hotel, with "family feel" and "old Europe" decoration. Parking is nearby, about 60m up a side street.

We missed an electric kettle and tea/coffe facilities in the room, as it was a bit cold already.

The hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff was extremely accomodating and helpful. While we weren't allowed to take our dog into the breakfast area, they set up a table for us to eat in the main lobby.

There was no restaurant in the hotel which would have been nice. After a long day out, our two small children weren't happy about going outside for dinner. While our room was quite toasty, the halls and the billards area weren't heated.

Rothenburg is a magical place to visit. The Gastehaus has an excellent position and handy parking. Meals are taken in the main hotel opposite, which has a beautiful dining room. If the hotel itself is full, then you should expect to be shown to a table away from the lovely view over the valley - unsurprisingly, guests in the main hotel get priority because they pay more for their rooms.

The breakfast buffet was disorganised - with food/beverages spread over 4 tables in different places. The food was fine once you finally located what you wanted and got it to your table!

I looked up to the ceiling, and there was mold growing on the moulding.

['Upgraded' to Hotel Goldener Hirsch across the road] Good parking on-site, good breakfast with lovely views across valley vineyards, interesting historical building in old part of city, good dinner recommendations from staff, free internet facilities.

Inadequate personal control of heating in room (central heating minimum set too low, so room damp and cool), thin curtains let in street light at night.

Great location close to the Town Hall. The Gästehaus is across the street from the Hotel of the same name - very comfortable and many Euros less. Parking is available behind the Gästehaus. Breakfast is served in the Hotel with a beautiful view over the City wall and the valley below.

I was located in a new renovated section out of the main hotel. We had a large room with additional room with additional bed. The room was very nice with a nice bath and Plasma screen. The location is just in the town center and having a car parking in the middle of Rothenburg was great.

Breackfeat was less impressive and although the hotel was far from full the stuff did not fill the plates fast enugh and items were missing.

Easy accessibility to the old town and secure parking at the rear of the building which allowed us to unload and load with ease.
