Very friendly staff - we arrived late and they found meal for us even though kitchen closed. Comfortable room with views of mountain - enjoyed stay.
shower room was very small - more like a 'plastic capsule' found in caravan than hotel room
This is a great location. Away from the bigger town but still handy to everything. It is close to Eibsee, Zugspitze, hiking trails, shops, supermarkets etc. Grainau is just down the road and Garmish not too much further. The staff were exceptionally friendly. Suzanne (daughter) speaks perfect English and was also prepared to help us with our German. During my stay, I had a fall whilst hiking and received a gash on my leg. Although not necessary, Suzanne offered to accompany me to the doctor/hospital to act as an interpreter. Her mother and father, although speaking less English, were equally as friendly. Room was large with its own balcony with a view of the nearby mountain. Breakfast was continental but quite sufficient. Room included bathrobes and shampoo, and also complimentary fruit and bottled water. Free wi-fi. Free newspaper (albeit in German).
Although there was free wi-fi,MIT was occasionally slow. No major problem though. As with other German accommodation houses, there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. This would be a great plus for European guest houses. Had the usual twin single beds pushed together to make a double bed. Although a few things have been listed above, they are only minor and, overall, the service provided was very good.
Really friendly relaxing atmosphere with nice hosts. Wonderful view and service. Cannot stop going back...
Everything was great. Clean room with excellent view of mountains from deck; wonderful breakfast, helpful staff, great recommendation for local fare for dinner.
The place is run by a family. I've met all of them. The hosts are really nice and the stay was one of the most pleasant I ever had. The breakfast was sufficient and had a various choises of food. No hot meals. The view from the balcony was facing the mountais, so it is a nice one to wake up to. I was living in Room 6. You get a bathroab and a towel as well as some shower gels to accompany your stay. Also, they issue the ticket so you can move around Grainau and Garmische. Location: 7mins from all the restaurants and 13mins walk to the main train station. Alternatively, 2,6km to the Eibsee lake and from there around 2km to the mountain climing paths. I am planning on staying there next time as well!
Recommendation only: wifi could be slightly improved (the range was not reaching my room fully)
Absolutely the best. They make you feel like family from the moment you check in to as you pull out of their drive at the conclusion of your stay. We liked it so much, that we immediately booked a follow on stay for two weeks later. Room was cozy and clean. Wi-Fi ran as to be expected. Excellent views of the mountains. The food was wonderful, I highly recommend the Hirschgulasch.
Friendly staff Good Bavarian food (they bake their own delicious bread!) Nice location; close to Zugspitze and Garmisch Classic
Wifi a bit spotty. Did not seem to have a ski cellar (didn't ask...)
Very warm hosts, lovely home and excellent food.
We loved the pension. Very, very nice . They served us a tasty breakfast.
The bathroom is a little small :)
The family were excellent hosts, very warm and welcoming. The house and facilities were immaculate. The food was top class the chef prepared varied dishes all top class and beautiful presented. Suzanne and Miriam kept us well informed and ensured that we were well fed and looked after and we felt very honoured to have stayed in their lovely home. What a week we had and the memories will stay for ever. Thank you for a wonderful holiday - Liz and Peter the bmw English bikers!!
Everything. The family run gasthaus gave us the feeling we were part of their family. There was nothing they would not do for us. The views of the Alps in the morning and the sunsets were out of sight. Centrally located to most all major places to see while on vacation. (Within two hours) Rooms more than met our needs and very clean. Parking was on site and Wi-Fi is provided. Food was excellent, both morning and evening meals. I highly recommend this gasthaus to any one looking for a place to stay that is looking for a place away from the hustle of the bigger cities/towns. note: don't forget to leave your room key at check out. most embarrassing when you find it in your pocket 250 km away.
This is a family operated establishment. We felt like we had been invited to stay in their home. Very friendly and helpful. They operate a very good little restaurant as well.
There was nothing to complain about.
