This elegant 3-star hotel is a beautiful 19th-century villa in the heart of Heidelberg, directly overlooking the Neckar River and a short walk from all historic attractions.
Score from 436 reviews Wonderful
Dating from 1856, this 3-star hotel in Heidelberg offers spacious accommodations. It's in the center of the city, a 5-minute walk from the Neckartal-Odenwald Forest.
Score from 1073 reviews Excellent
Perfect location for exploring the Altstadt, castle and christmas markets. Room heating could be easily controlled. Free coffee and tea available anytime. Staff very helpful - english spoken. Good breakfast choices.
I had read other reviews that mentioned the excellent dinner in the hotel's restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised as the hotel's restaurant is excellent - great food and a very good wine list too.
European pillows. Awful, but not unusual in Europe where no hotels have firm pillows!
great location right in the centre of the city, staff could not have been more helpful. Would certainly go back and stay there again.
Inside the center of everything and still quiet. Staff helpful and very friendly. Rooms tidy and big enough.
that I had to leave
A girlfriend and I stayed here for one night while in Heidelberg. The room was remodeled and very modern. Nice bathroom/shower/furniture. Breakfast was great. We were also able to check in early!
The location was great. The room was well equipped and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
I would appreciate a way to warm the room.
Nicely and conveniently located. It was a very comfortable stay. And the lady at the reception desk is very helpful always with a smile.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was excellent for us - very central - room was clean and breakfast was good
Quiet location Good location - really close to the centre of town. Good restaurant Friendly staff
On site parking limited, but other parking available nearby TomTom GPS doesnt find the address, and roads around the hotel are narrow, one way streets which merge with a pedestrianised area making access a bit difficult.
Location Good food Comfortable room with excellent shower room
arriving by car was a challenge
The room was impeccable clean with a georgeous view. The staff was very friendly.
Modern bathroom and amenities. Quiet. Great location. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast.
I've got nothing
Location down a side street in centre of old town. Parking in courtyard. Excellent breakfast. Nice room.
Really hard to find. Google directions were rubbish - not hotel's fault, but perhaps they could put some better directions on their own webpage.
Buckmulde is in a very central location, in a quiet attractive old street, with an old city wall tower as part of it's courtyard. We liked the clean, modern interior. The buffet style traditional German breakfast was a real feast. We arrived by train and could catch the bus to very near the hotel.
Good location， friendly staffs, nice breakfast
The location is excellent, the breakfast is super, the staff very helpful ,very good room size, clean !
From the moment we were greeted at reception to the time we checked out, the staff was consistently courteous and professional. We arrived very early and we were invited to leave our luggage and come back at 2pm (check-in is at 2:30). When we arrived back a few minutes before 2 our luggage was already in our room. Great attention to details, fine breakfast buffet, good coffee, quality internet service. We did not get a chance to try the hotel restaurant, but they have a great reputation.
Great location right off Main Street in olde town. Lots of shops and restaurants. Walk to castle and funicular. Rooms lovely. Modern bathrooms. Very nice breakfast. 10 minute taxi ride from train station.
Very friendly staff who spoke English. Private parking on site (arrange ahead of time!!). Hotel wasn't directly in the main walking areas, but it was a very short walk, and it made for a more quiet and restful sleep.
Was a little difficult to find the hotel, as it's on a 1-way street with the traffic-flow going towards the main street. Going around proved too difficult due to the sheer number of pedestrians walking the cobblestone streets around the town center. Eventually had to go the wrong way up the one way street (on their advice - they said they had an exemption to the law for hotel guests)
Stayed in 3 cities on this trip and this was the best shower and best bed of the trip. Very friendly hospitality, breakfast room had best selection and restaurant for dinner was delicious. It was very quiet at night and there was air conditioning. Wi-Fi was very reasonably priced
I booked a triple room and found out when I got there that it was not air conditioned. The manager was accommodating and there was a junior suite available with air conditioning but it cost more money. I found that the availability of air conditioning is hit or miss in Germany
Room basic but AC worked well and excellent breakfast. Excellent location.
The cleanliness, the shower and water pressure, the size of the room and bathroom, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, the breakfast.
There is no airconditioning, so it is necessary to sleep with the window open: unfortunately, as the hotel is in the center of the town and there are a lot of youngsters/students around, they get rowdy/loud at night, which woke us up several times. The hotel is rather difficult to reach by car, even when using a gps.
We don't usually eat in hotel restaurants but this food was exceptional. Beautifully presented, very well cooked. I usually find german food over cooked and bland but this was very good. Location and parking great.
Location was fantastic, situated on a street between the High Street and the River. Cleanliness and staff all great. The hotels courtyard was a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel offered drinks in a refrigerator that you could help yourself to & pay for at the end of your stay.
There were no Tea making facilities in the room and no fridge. There was a coffee machine accessible for those who drink it but myself and my partner don't. And the restaurant wasn't open on Sunday (however the location meant it was only a 30 sec walk to the nearest pub/cafe).
